On February 9th, Geely Automobile announced that it will integrate R & D resources at home and abroad to develop China's first truly "N95 mask" as the filtering standard for vehicle air conditioning filter, through the development of industry-leading IAPS intelligent air purification system to effectively block and filter bacteria and viruses entering the car.

According to Geely Automobile, the system will adopt N95 mask filtration standard and high efficiency composite air conditioning filter element to intelligently and quickly purify the air in the car. In addition to routine step-by-step filtration of dust, harmful gases, PM2.5 particles, etc., the filtration efficiency of dust particles with a particle size of more than 0.3micron is more than 95%, especially for those who want to rely on novel coronavirus. Droplets with a diameter of more than 0.74 microns usually have a better filtration effect, achieving the "N95 mask" purification effect.

Geely said it aims to complete the research and development of the system within 20 days and achieve mass production within 30 days. The first batch of products will be equipped with 150 Jiaji cars donated by Geely Automobile in the epidemic area to provide healthy and safe mobile space for the staff on the front line of epidemic prevention and control.

As early as February 4, Geely Holdings Group announced that Geely Automobile had invested 370 million yuan in advance to start the research and development of an "omni-directional healthy car" with virus prevention function.

Geely Holdings said that "omni-directional health vehicles" will be different from professional medical protective vehicles and will be consumer-grade products mainly for ordinary consumers. It not only has the existing functions of Geely automobile products, such as isolating harmful substances in the external air, quickly and efficiently purifying the air inside the car, but also will focus on breaking through the functions and technologies of virus prevention in the car to effectively restrain and reduce the damage of the virus to the human body. At the same time, all materials in the car will not only have high environmental protection and low sporadic, but also have the ability to inhibit bacteria or surface sterilization by adding bacteriostatic and antibacterial substances, so as to achieve "omni-directional health" with more practical value.

COVID-19 has wreaked havoc on Chinese mainland. At present, a number of car companies and parts manufacturers have donated money and materials to help front-line medical institutions ease the financial and material pressure. However, in the face of the huge daily demand for materials, front-line medical supplies are still in short supply.
