On February 14, the new generation of FAW-Volkswagen Suiteng sedan officially went offline in Chengdu factory. The new Suiteng was released in China in January, following the design style of the overseas version of Jetta (Jetta) as a whole, and is expected to be named "the new generation Suiteng long wheelbase version" after being lengthened in China. According to previous news, the new car will go on sale on March 18.

The new Suiteng is based on the MQB A2 platform and abandons the PQ35 platform. In appearance, the new Suiteng overall follows the overall style of the overseas version of the new Jetta, because the design is still strong Volkswagen style, all as a new generation of models are not so fresh. The wide-body style of the classic grille and headlights blend into one, a small Maiteng look, so Volkswagen's new car does not feel "new", the Internet is commonly known as nesting dolls, many people will say aesthetic fatigue.

As can be seen from the nameplate, the wheelbase of the new generation of models has been lengthened, and the name has been literally translated as "the new generation Suiteng long wheelbase version". Its length, width and height is 4753/1800/1462mm and its wheelbase is 2731mm. Compared with the current Suiteng, it has lengthened 80mm on the wheelbase and 45mm compared with the overseas version of the new Jetta. It can be seen that the price of the new model will not be compromised, but is likely to be more expensive.

In terms of power, the new Suiteng will be equipped with 1.2T and 1.4T engines with a maximum power of 115 horsepower and 150 horsepower respectively, and the transmission system will continue to match a five-speed manual or a seven-speed double-clutch transmission.

Suiteng is the third largest car model sold by Volkswagen in China. FAW-Volkswagen sold nearly 310000 cars in 2018, with the aura of Volkswagen LOGO. Volkswagen sedan has made a success in the Chinese market. However, the performance of the new car market launched by Volkswagen recently is relatively mediocre. Can Suiteng continue to have high sales after the replacement? It will be announced when it goes public in March this year.
