AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)02/11 Report--
Since February 10, the production of domestic automakers and parts suppliers has gradually resumed, but due to the impact of the epidemic, slow supply and other problems, more and more automakers have to announce the suspension of production. Nissan will temporarily suspend production at its manufacturing plant in Kyushu, Japan, due to disruptions in auto parts purchased from China, according to Japanese media reports. It is also the first Japanese carmaker to be forced to stop production because of the pneumonia epidemic.

Nissan plans to suspend production at its Kyushu plant, which produces "Serena" and "X-Trail" models, with an annual production capacity of about 430000 vehicles, half of which is for the domestic market. Nissan's production line in Japan, which mainly produces and exports cars, will also be suspended on February 17.
Nissan is finding it increasingly difficult to procure parts from China, while the shutdown could affect mass production of about 3000 vehicles, Japanese media reported. In this regard, the head of Nissan said that the shutdown will not affect the production of other Nissan factories in Japan. But the move also highlights the extent to which Japanese carmakers rely on the supply of parts from China.
Nissan's factories in China have also delayed resuming work due to parts supply and other problems. Nissan said the Guangzhou Huadu and Dalian plants in China were ready to restart production as early as February 17, while the restart dates for other plants had not yet been set.
Dongfeng Nissan currently has four major production bases in Guangzhou, Xiangyang, Zhengzhou and Dalian, as well as engine branch and technology center, with 18280 employees. Among them, Liaoning Dalian plant was put into production in October 2014, focusing on the production of NISSAN brand SUV models and Dongfeng Infiniti brand models.
Nissan's total sales in the Chinese market reached 1.547 million in 2019, and Nissan's production and sales will be further hampered by the delayed resumption of work and the continued suspension of production of spare parts.
Even as companies gradually enter the resumption stage, the problem of slow supply of spare parts is becoming more and more prominent, and a number of automakers have announced delays in resuming work.
GM said it would resume production in mainland China from February 15, and plans to resume production at the local joint venture plant would be based on supply chain and inventory readiness. SAIC GM was founded in June 1997 and currently has four production bases in Pudong Jinqiao, Yantai Dongyue, Shenyang Beisheng and Wuhan Branch, with a total of 9 vehicle production plants and 4 powertrain plants, mainly producing Buick, Chevrolet and Cadillac brands.
Toyota said that after considering the guidelines of local and regional governments on the epidemic, as well as the judgment made by local logistics and parts procurement, Toyota decided to extend the shutdown time of all Chinese plants and plans to resume production on February 17th. Toyota has set up six vehicle factories and four engine plants in Tianjin, Chengdu, Changchun and Guangzhou.
Honda said on the 7th that the car manufacturing plant in Wuhan, Hubei province is expected to resume production after the 17th. Dongfeng Honda has three production plants, all located in Wuhan, Hubei Province, and the company employs 12405 people.
Volkswagen Group said on February 11 that six of the 14 assembly plants operated with local partners in China had resumed production, five of which were operated by a joint venture between Volkswagen and FAW Group. One is operated in partnership with SAIC. Volkswagen also said it would resume production at the remaining plants on February 17.
The rest, including brilliance BMW and Hyundai Kia joint venture plants, are also scheduled to resume normal production until February 17.
Generally speaking, under the influence of the spread of the epidemic, it will be difficult for the automobile manufacturing industry with the characteristics of long industrial chain to return to work in the near future, and the automobile manufacturing industry will stop production because of a serious shortage of spare parts, which will deal a blow to the performance of various automobile companies.
