Changan Automobile officially announced its production and sales in January 2020 on February 14. Data show that the production and sales of Changan Automobile in January were 123913 and 134578 respectively, down 13.7% and 4.6% respectively from the same period last year.
In terms of independent brands, Chongqing Changan, Hebei Changan and Hefei Changan sold a total of 81338 vehicles in January, an increase of 3.29% over the same period last year. In terms of joint venture brands, Changan Ford sold 15358 vehicles in January, up 4.2 per cent from a year earlier, while Changan Mazda sold 8866 vehicles in January, down 27.8 per cent from a year earlier.
Judging from the subdivided data, Changan's own brand was not affected by the epidemic and the off-season of the automobile market, and continued to maintain stable sales and achieve proportional growth in the first month of the year, mainly because of the hot sales of SUV models CS75 series, CS35 series, CS55 series and car Changan Yitou series. Changan Independent has not yet announced the performance of specific models, but judging from the total sales of its own brands, the performance of the CS75 series, CS35 series, CS55 series and Changan Yitong series should not be very disappointed last month.
The joint venture brand Changan Mazda continued the decline in sales in January. In the past three years, Changan Ford has dropped 14%, 54% and 51% respectively compared with the same period last year, mainly because the iteration of new car renewal is relatively slow, and the product strength is obviously less competitive than the same class models.
But in December, Changan Ford launched the compact SUV-- Rui Ji, a new car with a 2.0T turbocharged engine and four-wheel drive system. As a 200000-yuan model, Ruiji's performance in power and performance is due to the same class of models, so it is predicted that the sales growth of Changan Ford in January has a lot to do with the launch of Ruiji.
Changan car sales continued to decline, but also led to Changan Automobile profit loss. According to the financial report previously disclosed by Changan Automobile, the company expects to lose 2.4 billion-2.9 billion yuan for the whole of 2019, while it still made a profit of 680 million yuan in the same period last year. The profit changed from profit to loss, a drop of as much as 452.56% and 526% compared with the same period last year. As for the sharp decline in the 2019 performance forecast, Changan Automobile said that "the performance loss is mainly caused by the decline in sales".
Chang'an Automobile has a high reputation among Chinese independent brand car companies, but it has gradually lost its advantage due to various reasons.
