According to foreign media reports, Tesla has begun preliminary work on the construction of a super factory in Berlin, Germany, and the company has begun to cut down forests to remove some major obstacles related to environmental problems in the construction process.

In China, the construction and commissioning of Tesla Shanghai Super Factory in less than a year has refreshed human cognition. Following the completion of Tesla's Shanghai superfactory, Tesla CEO Musk confirmed last November that a fourth superfactory would be built in Glenhead, Brandenburg, but the construction of the Berlin superfactory was much more difficult than expected due to the complexity of environmental problems and local protests.

In December, Tesla signed a contract with Germany to build the Tesla super factory in Berlin, covering an area of about 740 acres (2.99sq km). The site is still a forest. In mid-March, the local wildlife breeding season will be ushered in, and Tesla must finish logging before that.

In the past two months, Tesla's new factory plan has been gradually announced through new construction plans and environmental assessments. Tesla had to cut down a large number of trees in order to build a factory in the Glenn Hyde area on the outskirts of Berlin, and the local ecosystem would be more or less damaged. Although Tesla promised to plant three times as many trees as compensation, the complex forest ecosystem is not just a forest, which is home to many animals, one of which is the endangered bat.

It is understood that the bats living in this forest are an endangered species. They hibernate until March every year, and after waking up, they enter the mating season. In order to ensure their normal life and reproduction, they should not be disturbed so as not to be frightened. In addition, Tesla was protested by local residents last month, and residents have held several demonstrations. Since then, Musk has tried to allay concerns about the environmental impact of the Berlin superfactory.

Glenhead Mayor Arne Christian said that although the logging operation is expected to be completed on schedule, Tesla still has many tasks to accomplish during the construction of the factory, such as dispersing or relocating wolves, hibernating bats, snakes and lizards.

Steinbach, minister of economy of Brandenburg, also said that we are not sure whether we can keep Tesla going. In the process of building the factory, Tesla not only needs to draw up a convincing proposal to meet the requirements of local environmental regulations, but also local residents can still raise objections after Tesla has obtained permission to start construction.

Tesla spent 41 million euros to buy the woodland. If the environment and local residents' anxiety can be overcome, the plant will produce 500000 cars a year when it is completed, posing great challenges to Volkswagen, Daimler and BMW.

When completed, the Berlin super factory will be Tesla's first super factory in Germany and Tesla's fourth super factory in the world. Tesla said the Berlin superfactory needs to break ground in the first half of this year and complete construction and production in July next year. Musk has previously said that the Berlin superfactory will start producing batteries and power systems for electric cars, and that the first investment electric car will start with Model Y.

Musk is constantly expanding, as demonstrated by the super factories in Shanghai and Berlin. Musk said earlier that he hoped to build a Tesla super factory on every continent in order to drive the company to achieve higher and faster growth.

In the past trading day, Tesla's share price closed at US $800, down 0.49%, with a market capitalization of more than US $140.2 billion.
