AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)02/15 Report--
Affected by the COVID-19 epidemic and the off-season of the traditional car market, domestic passenger cars declined seriously in January this year. According to data released by the Federation of passengers, sales in the domestic narrow passenger car market reached 1.721 million in January 2020, down 20.4 percent from the same period last year and 19.6 percent from the previous month. Among them, car sales fell 23.7% in January from a year earlier to 818000 vehicles, more than in the same period in recent years.
The list of car sales in January 2020 has been released, and according to the list, a number of models have declined to varying degrees in January this year, including Lang Yi, Xuanya, Carola, Accord and Dihao.
In terms of specific models, Volkswagen Longyi and Nissan Xuanyi are two bitter rivals, and the two models have repeatedly competed with each other for the top one or two on the list, so in terms of sales in January this year, Lang Yi was slightly better than Xuan Yi, with 3000 more than Xuan Yi. However, both models declined to varying degrees last month, with Lang Yi down 20.5% and Xuanyi down 7.2%.
Volkswagen's Bora and Suiteng ranked third and fourth on the list, but the two models achieved year-on-year growth. Bora's January sales rose 20.7 per cent to 31264 vehicles from a year earlier, while Suiteng's January sales rose 13.8 per cent to 28774 vehicles.
Leiling, owned by Toyota, and Civic, owned by Honda, also saw year-on-year growth, with January sales of 23983 and 22051 respectively, up 11.5 per cent and 14.4 per cent respectively.
Leiling, which is based on TNGA architecture, has improved in science and technology, security configuration and power since its replacement, and basically its sales in China have increased to varying degrees every month. The Civic, owned by Honda, has been favored by consumers by virtue of its "civilian supercar", and its sales have remained above 20,000 for many times in a row.
On the other hand, although Japanese Toyota Corolla and Honda Accord sold 20,000 vehicles last month, they also declined to varying degrees.
In the car list, there is only one self-branded model in the top 10, and that is Geely Dihao. The car sold 22232 new cars last month, but down 6.1 per cent from 23667 last year.
It is worth mentioning that Passat was not seen in the top 10 cars list in January. It is understood that Passat sold 218506 vehicles in 2019, an increase of 30.8% over the same period last year, and 27414 in December last year.
The main reason why Passat failed to enter the top 10 of the car is that he made an "impressive" result when riding in PICC Research. After Passat's results in the PICC crash were announced, people were very disappointed with Passat's safety factor. After all, Volkswagen is better than Japanese models in terms of safety and driving. In addition, better than Passat's poor performance in PICC research, and people are also disappointed with Volkswagen, SAIC Volkswagen sold only 113000 vehicles last month, down 40.5 per cent from a year earlier.
Judging from the list of car sales in January, the best sellers are still German and Japanese, of which eight are owned by German Volkswagen and Japanese. It is not difficult to see that in the current market, the best sellers are still Japanese and German.
Volkswagen has been ploughing in the Chinese market for many years and has accumulated a lot of word-of-mouth and brand awareness, and many joint venture brands cannot be surpassed. On the other hand, Japanese brand models mainly meet the needs of consumers and cater to the car purchase standards of domestic consumers. In addition, only one independent brand model is in the top ten, and the current performance of independent brands is still lower than that of many joint venture brands.
