A Porsche Taycan burns spontaneously in a house in Florida, causing serious damage to the house and car, with no casualties, foreign media reported. Porsche said it had launched an investigation.

According to statistics, Porsche Taycan officially began delivery in the United States at the end of 2019 and has sold 130 units so far. The Taycan is the first mass-produced model with a system voltage of 800V. When using a high-power charging network for DC charging, it supports charging power up to 270kW, and the Taycan can achieve more than 5 minutes to supplement the power required for 100km mileage. Under ideal charging conditions, it takes only 22.5 minutes for Taycan to charge from 5% to 80%.

The first delivery region of Taycan is in the United States, and there is a problem of spontaneous combustion at the beginning of delivery, which will have a great impact on its future sales and promotion. Many viewpoints point out that the problem of power battery is a major cause of spontaneous combustion of electric vehicles, while the battery carried by Taycan comes from LG Chemistry, and the energy of battery pack is 79.2 and 93.4kWh, but whether it is the problem of battery pack remains to be investigated.

At present, the results of further investigation into the accident by Porsche officials have yet to be announced.
