A few days ago, Toyota's new car planning in the field of new energy has been exposed, among which the Toyota RAV4 plug-in version, which was unveiled in Europe and the United States last year, is about to be put into production.

According to the information of the plan, the domestic version of Toyota RAV4 will not be officially put into production until April 2021, while the mixed version of RAV4 and the fuel version will be produced on the same production line, but the output value will be different, with 16200 plug-in models for every 120000 fuel versions of the new RAV4. In addition, it is worth mentioning that the size of the mixed version of the RAV4 will be slightly smaller than that of the fuel version.

In fact, the earliest news of FAW Toyota's new RAV4 domestic version mixed version was exposed on the Chinese international bidding website in early December last year, when FAW Toyota only completed the introduction of the new RAV4 PHEV model and invited tenders for the planned technological transformation of capacity expansion, which is located in FAW Toyota's Jilin Changchun base.

Although Toyota's RAV4 plug-in has completed some preliminary preparations in less than two months, it will not be put into production until April next year, which is indeed later than in overseas markets and later than many of its domestic competitors.

In November, Toyota brought its new RAV4 Prime model, the first plug-in model, to the Los Angeles auto show and announced that it would go on sale this summer, meaning the domestic market would be in the evening for a year. Of course, this speed is not surprising, because the localization of FAW Toyota's new RAV4 fuel version is about a year late, and the 2020 RAV4 was officially launched in October last year. Toyota seems to be much slower than the listed Volkswagen Touguan L PHEV, the declared Volkswagen Touyue GTE and the Honda CR-V PHEV confirmed to be listed this year.

However, at present, the domestic new energy vehicle market is suffering a heavy blow. Since the domestic new energy vehicle subsidies declined last year, the new energy vehicle market has declined for many months in a row, until January this year, the lowest sales were only 44000 vehicles, down 54.4% from the same period last year. Among them, the sales of plug-in hybrid models in January was 12484, accounting for less than 30% of the new energy market. For example, Tuguan L, which generally has monthly sales of more than 20, 000, basically does not exceed 1000 vehicles.

According to the plan, the domestic mixed version of RAV4 will be consistent in the appearance and interior of the fuel version, and will also be built under the framework of TNGA, basically continuing the shape of RAV4. For example, the overseas version of the mixed model is only slightly adjusted in the details, adding a blue logo and signs on both sides of the fender to highlight the identity of the plug-in version.

The biggest difference is that the overseas version of the hybrid model is equipped with a 2.5L Atkinson cycle engine and motor plug-in hybrid system. In pure electricity, the mileage is about 63km, the comprehensive fuel consumption of 100 kilometers is 2.6 L, the maximum power is increased to 302 horsepower, the acceleration of the new car at 0-96 km / h is 5.8 seconds, and it will also be equipped with four-wheel drive system. The domestic version of RAV4 may not change much.

As a global model, the new RAV4 has performed well in all regions of the world, and has once again won the world SUV sales title in 2019 with sales of up to 931852 vehicles, but the price of the new RAV4 has risen due to its short time on the market and the use of TNGA architecture, so that it is still in a climbing period in China, and the future performance in China will still be expected.
