AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)02/19 Report--
According to foreign media reports, iSeeCars.com, an automobile research company, analyzed the prices of more than 6 million new and used cars sold from August 2019 to January 2020 and determined the top ten cars with the smallest price difference between the new cars of the same model and the used cars after one year of use.
According to the ranking of value preservation rate, Tesla Model 3 ranks first in the top 10, with a price difference of only 5.5%, or $2529, between new and old cars, followed by Ford Ranger, which is $3716 cheaper than new cars after a year of use, a drop of 11.4%. The third place is Chevrolet Traverse, which is 11.7% lower than the original price.
Among the fourth to tenth models, Honda includes four models, namely, Honda Civic (fourth), Honda Feido (fifth), Honda Accord (eighth) and Honda Ridgeline (ninth), with decreases of 11.9%, 12.5%, 13.7% and 13.8%, respectively.
In addition, Subaru Crosstrek and Chevrolet Traverse ranked sixth and seventh, respectively, with used car prices down 13.1% and 13.6% respectively, while Dodge Charger ranked 10th, with a 13.9% drop in used car prices.
It is not surprising that Tesla Model 3, as a pure electric car, has a difference of only 5.5% in value after one year of use. Last year, Musk, chief executive of Tesla, said Tesla was now a "value-added asset" because of its self-driving function. He said that once Tesla has achieved full autopilot, his vehicle will become an income-generating asset for car owners. With the continuous improvement of the autopilot system, Tesla will increase the price of the autopilot kit, thereby increasing the value of the whole car.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk also reminded car buyers on Twitter this month that they need to consider that the transition from the auto industry to electric vehicles could lead to a "significant decline in the residual value of gasoline / diesel vehicles in the next few years."
Honda sold 5.171 million vehicles worldwide in 2019, down 3.5% from the same period last year. North America and China are Honda's main markets, and its Civic, Accord and Feido also sell well in major markets, but compared with the domestic market, Honda sells better in North America, and American consumers know more about Japanese brands than Chinese consumers.
