He was promoted from Honda Executive Director and European Minister Katsushi Inoue to Honda Executive Director, replacing Teixiu Mizuno as Honda China Minister and General Manager of Honda Technology Research Industry (China) Investment Co., Ltd. and Honda Technology (China) Co., Ltd.

Data show that Mizuno Taixiu first joined Honda in 1986 and has been in office for 34 years. He became general manager of Dongfeng Honda in 2010 and was promoted to executive director of Honda and general manager of Guangzhou Automobile Honda in 2014.

Inoue joined Honda in 1986 and joined Honda in the same year as Teixiu Mizuno. He also has more than 30 years of experience in the automotive industry and is a senior expert in automobile manufacturing and project management. But compared with Mr. Inoue, who has 10 years of experience in China, Mr. Inoue's previous work focused on the European market.

It is worth noting that the above-mentioned personnel appointments will come into effect on 1 April 2020.

On February 19th, Honda China also released a sales report for January 2020. Honda sold 149863 vehicles in China in January, up 9.8 per cent from a year earlier, according to data. Among them, Guangzhou Auto Honda's terminal sales in January 2020 were 76266 vehicles, up 0. 6% from the same period last year; Dongfeng Honda's terminal sales in January 2020 were 73597 vehicles, up 21.3% from the same period last year.

Although Honda, like many car companies, was hit by a holiday and an epidemic in January, Honda was able to grow against the trend. There are more than ten thousand models. In terms of models, in January this year, six models, including Accord, Lingpai, Collective, Civic, Honda CR-V and XR-V, sold more than 10, 000 vehicles, of which Accord, Civic and CR-V sold more than 20, 000 vehicles a month. Models with the SPORT HYBRIO sharp hybrid system sold 14453 vehicles in January.

Judging from Guangzhou Auto Honda and Dongfeng Honda, Dongfeng Honda continued its strong growth trend in 2019 in January, leading Guangzhou Automobile Honda by more than 20%, even when Guangzhou Auto Honda launched its new compact SUV model, Haoying. As the Haoying model is still in the climbing period, only 9539 vehicles this month, failed to achieve more than 10,000, an increase of 31 per cent month-on-month.

However, due to Dongfeng Honda's production site is the hardest hit by the novel coronavirus epidemic, Honda said on the 14th that according to the Hubei provincial government's plan, Honda's plant in Wuhan was postponed by one week and planned to resume operation on the 21st and start production on February 24. This is the third time Honda has postponed the resumption of work at Dongfeng Honda, a factory in Wuhan.

As the local epidemic situation in Hubei will be severe, Hubei Province again issued a notice on the pneumonia prevention and control situation of novel coronavirus on February 20. according to the relevant notice, all kinds of enterprises in Hubei Province should return to work no earlier than 24:00 on March 10. It means that car companies in Hubei, such as Dongfeng Honda and Shenlong Motor, will stop work for a month in February and will not be able to resume work until March, so it can be speculated that Dongfeng Honda's production and sales will be greatly affected throughout February or even March.

At present, China's car market is still in the doldrums, and the market will be affected by the epidemic in the short term, but it is still hosted by Taixiu Mizuno according to Honda's life adjustment in China. I wonder if it can help Honda recover before he leaves office.
