Geely Motor's new compact SUV-- Geely ICON will be officially launched on February 24. The new car has two versions of "i7" and "i9", a total of four models, including two traditional fuel versions and two MHEV mild hybrids with a price range of 115800-128800 yuan.

For this new SUV model, Geely ICON continues the design language of Geely CONCEPT ICON concept car in appearance, with multiple "back" words repeated on the front face similar to the effect of "time hourglass". At the same time, two circular vertical light sources are arranged on both sides, and the whole fog lamp area is concave. In terms of body, the length, width and height of the new car are 4350/1810/1615mm and the wheelbase is 2640mm.

The interior of the new car adopts white and brown, black and red, black and orange three kinds of collision color design, the overall central control layout is simple and generous. The 10.25-inch full liquid crystal meter and the 10.25-inch suspended central control screen almost cover the entire central control area, and the air conditioning outlet is located at the bottom of the screen; in addition, the new car adds a large number of "time symbol" design elements to the air conditioning outlet, the retaining handle area and the door handles on both sides of the door, highlighting its sense of science and technology.

Geely icon is powered by a 1.5T turbocharged engine and a 48V light hybrid system, with a maximum output power of 130kW and a peak torque of 255Nm, in which the 48V light hybrid system can bring additional 10kW power and 45N m torque. In terms of transmission system, it is matched by a seven-speed double clutch gearbox.

The biggest highlight of Geely ICON is the "anti-virus" function. According to official sources, Geely ICON will be the first new car in China to be equipped with a "N95" mask-grade filter element, as well as an IAPS intelligent air purification system with in-car virus isolation and prevention functions.

Previously, Geely invested 370 million yuan to develop an "omni-directional healthy car." Now, its first project, "CN95" high-efficiency composite air conditioning filter element has been successfully trial-produced, the filter element has been mass produced, and the first batch of trial-production filter elements have been sent to Wuhan, Taizhou, Guiyang, Xi'an and other places.

It is understood that Geely ICON first appeared at the 2018 Beijing Auto Show, based on Geely's BMA platform; in September last year, Geely released a short sci-fi film video in which the new SUV model was officially named "ICON"; Geely ICON was officially unveiled at the 2019 Guangzhou Auto Show.

Affected by the epidemic, many car companies have slowed down the pace of launching new cars. Geely ICON, which originally planned to launch on February 14, finally changed the launch time to February 24 and adopted the method of online release. However, if the car is popular with consumers, then even if it is released online, it will not affect the popularity of the car at all.
