Recall models:

Since March 30, 2020, some imported C-Class, E-Class, G-Class, CLS-Class, GLC SUV and AMG GT vehicles produced from June 2, 2018 to October 31, 2018 will be recalled, totaling 11166.

Reasons for recall:

The front seat belt locks of some vehicles within the scope of this recall may not meet the requirements, and the seat belts that are fastened correctly will be mistakenly detected as unfastened. Warning prompts will appear in the combination instrument, and sound warnings will be issued immediately when the vehicle is started. if the driver ignores these warnings, when the vehicle collides and requires the restraint system to start, the electric active winding of the front seat belt and the function of winding through the exploder may not be activated, the restraint effect of the seat belt will be affected, increasing the risk of injury to the front seat belt, there are safety risks.

Solution:

Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd. will check the front seat belt latches for vehicles within the recall area free of charge and replace them if necessary to eliminate safety risks.

Starting from March 27, 2020, the recall of some imported E-class two-wheel drive vehicles produced from May 31, 2018 to January 24, 2019 will be expanded, totaling 1531.

Reasons for recall:

When the front shock absorber of the vehicle within the scope of this recall is impacted by a large external force, it may cause damage to the shock absorber and deformation and bending of the shock absorber fork head, or even lead to the bushing of the lower control arm of the vehicle protruding, and in extreme cases, it may lead to the fracture of the shock absorber fork head. There is a safety risk.

Solution:

Mercedes-Benz (China) Automotive sales Co., Ltd. will install front shock absorber reinforcements (improved lower control arm bushings, shock absorber spring upper gaskets, buffer blocks and other reinforcement components) on recalled vehicles free of charge to eliminate safety risks.

This recall belongs to the "Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd., Beijing Mercedes-Benz Motor Co., Ltd. recalled some imported C-Class and domestic C-Class and E-Class two-wheel drive cars issued on May 27, 2019. Due to the producer data system, some imported vehicles are not included in the scope of the first recall.
