The Chinese market continues to be Mercedes-Benz's largest single market in the world. In order to speed up product updates and market expansion, Beijing Mercedes-Benz has introduced more localized models and replaced 1.3T engines. Therefore, after the launch of the domestic GLB 2001.3T model, the lower-power GLB 180 model will be put on the market soon, further reducing the price and covering more consumer groups.

According to the new product launch plan of Mercedes-Benz, the GLB 180 model with 1.3T low-power engine will be on the market in March 2020. the current price of GLB 200is 31.48-354800 yuan, and the starting price of GLB 180 model may be about 280000 yuan.

After the launch of the GLB 180, it will also become the weakest power model in the history of Mercedes-Benz. However, for the car's target consumers, may be more concerned about the Mercedes-Benz brand and cost-effective, power is not the focus of consideration. After all, manufacturers will do sufficient market research before launching each model, and the car is facing such a target consumer group.

Beijing Mercedes-Benz GLB positioning compact SUV, the styling is also more square, offering 5ram 7-seat models to choose from. Compared with the GLB 200th edition, the domestic GLB 180 is simpler, including lamp sets, rims, etc., and the front LED headlights and LED taillights are cancelled.

In terms of body size, the length, width and height are 4638/1834/1687mm (including luggage rack 1700mm) and the wheelbase is 2829mm. The car offers two tire specifications: 235R18 and 235R19 for consumers to choose from.

In terms of interior decoration, the GLB is on a par with A-class models, highlighting the luxury of Mercedes-Benz design. However, the GLB 180 is expected to have a smaller front display.

The domestic Mercedes-Benz GLB is based on the MFA2 horizontal module architecture and is produced on the same platform as A-class models, so the power is also shared. The low-power version of the 1.3T engine adopts a four-cylinder design, with a maximum output of 136hp and a peak torque of 200Nm, which matches a 7-speed double-clutch gearbox. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology shows a comprehensive fuel consumption of 6.3L.

In addition, the new Mercedes-Benz GLA will also be replaced with a 1.3T engine, and the new car is scheduled to go on sale within 2020. It means that the 1.3T powertrain will be fully popularized at the Mercedes-Benz compact level.

If the low-power version of the GLB 180 starts at 280000, which is basically equivalent to the terminal price of the Audi Q3 40TFSI quattro version and the BMW X1.2.0T model, the GLB is less cost-effective, and maybe Mercedes-Benz brand influence is more valuable.
