AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)03/01 Report--
As early as January this year, it was reported that BYD's new model, the Han, will be unveiled at this year's Beijing auto show and launched in June this year, but it has now been changed to launch in the third quarter of this year, meaning the launch time of the model will be delayed.
Affected by novel coronavirus's epidemic situation, the 16th Beijing International Auto Show this year will be postponed. As a result, many car companies will disrupt their plans for the models that will be unveiled at this year's Beijing auto show, including BYD's latest "blockbuster" model Han. To this end, netizens with plans to buy Han models asked on BYD's official account when the model would be available and whether it would be released online instead.
However, according to the reply from Zhao Changjiang, general manager of BYD Automobile sales Co., Ltd., the BYD Han model will go on sale in the third quarter of this year. It means that Han, which had previously been reported to be listed in June this year, will be delayed, and it is not known exactly in which month it will be listed in the third quarter.
As another new model in its dynastic series, BYD's "Han" released a styling preview as early as April last year, and there has been more and more news about the car over time, but it has not yet been officially released a year later, only some of the official pictures have been released.
According to previous information, BYD Han will launch EV and DM versions, of which the EV model is the first to use the "high-performance silicon carbide MOSFET motor control module", which will help to increase the 0-100km/h acceleration time of the BYD EV to just 3.9s, according to BYD officials.
The new car has different design styles in the appearance of the EV version and the DM version, in which the EV version adopts the styling style of Dragon Face 2.0. it is more inclined to the design elements of the new energy vehicle and adopts the closed middle grid design. At the same time, BYD's newly designed logo will be used for the first time. While the DM version is designed with horizontal hexagons, Peugeot uses the Chinese character "Han" to display, the overall bright spot is not big.
The side of the car body is designed with a four-door sedan car, and the slender body with a bit of back-sliding design is integrated into the hidden door design of new energy mainstream new energy models. There is no big difference between the two models at the rear, and the EV version is more sporty. Body size is 4980/1910/1495mm, wheelbase is 2920mm, positioning medium and large flagship sedan.
In the interior design, while continuing the family design language, more high-end model designs are integrated, with black and brown as the main colors. Equipped with large screen and full liquid crystal meter, two-frame steering wheel with multi-function buttons.
According to the information declared by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Han EV version is divided into a single-motor two-wheel-drive version and a dual-motor four-wheel-drive version, with the highest NEDC mileage of 605km and the shorter NEDC integrated range of 550km. The DM version uses a 2.0T engine + 180kW motor with a minimum fuel consumption of 1.4L per 100 km. It is worth noting that the new car will be equipped with BYD's brand-new "blade battery"
Although the Han model is a blockbuster model of BYD, more than a year has passed since its launch, the model has not yet been officially released, which will undoubtedly gradually dampen the desire of some potential consumers to buy. However, judging from the current automobile market and the new energy market, even if listed too early, it may not bring too much repercussions.
According to sales figures released by BYD, total sales in 2019 were 461399 vehicles, down 11.39 per cent from a year earlier. Of these, total sales of new energy vehicles were 229506, down 7.39% from the same period last year. Under the multiple influence of the market, there was a 75.1% year-on-year decline in January this year, with sales of only 7133 vehicles. Of this total, sales of pure electric vehicles were 5144, down 68.3 per cent from a year earlier, while sales of plug-in hybrid vehicles were 1876, down 84.1 per cent from a year earlier.
