According to sales data, Weimar delivered a total of 16876 cars last year, ranking second among the new car-building forces in the country, second only to Lulai.
However, Weimar and Xiaopeng set a sales target of 40, 000 vehicles last year, while Weima set a sales target of 100000 vehicles. Because the sales volume fell too far from the target, Weima had a target completion rate of only 16.88% last year. The low completion rate of this goal may be the main reason for Weimar's cancellation of year-end bonuses.
Weima Automobile, as a member of the new car-building forces, although it has not yet shown an extreme lack of funds, but actively promoting the financing process is also one of the company's main tasks.
It is understood that Weimar Motor has raised a total of 23 billion yuan since its establishment in 2015. On March 8 last year, Weima Motor completed a total of 3 billion yuan of C-round financing, led by Baidu Group, Taihang Industrial Fund, Linear Capital and so on. Currently, Weimar is seeking $1 billion (7 billion yuan) from D-round, which is expected to complete financing in the first half of this year.
Shen Hui, CEO of Weima Automobile, said at last year's Guangzhou Auto Show that "only NIO, Weima and Xiaopeng will be left in domestic car manufacturing enterprises in the future. Weima firmly believes that it can become the first new car manufacturer in the world to make a profit for the whole year, and hopes to be ahead of Tesla."
Tesla is the leading enterprise of electric vehicles, it has been 16 years since its establishment, but it has not made a profit. Only five years after its establishment, Weimar threatened to become the first new car manufacturer to make a profit. In the current automotive environment, Weima Motor is not even easy to survive, let alone profitable.
