AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)03/06 Report--

According to foreign media reports, Toyota plans to recall 3.2 million vehicles worldwide. The reason for the recall is that the fuel pump equipped with the vehicle may cause the engine to run badly, causing the vehicle to stall, and even the vehicle may not be able to restart.

The recall includes 1.8 million vehicles in the United States, including trucks, commercial vehicles, SUV and cars from 2013 to 2019, including Asian Dragons, Camry, Corolla, Halanda, Sequoia and Lexus.

This is not the first time Toyota has recalled because of fuel pump problems. In January, Toyota recalled 699000 vehicles in the United States because of the same problem. Lexus recalled models such as the Lexus ES, IS, GS, LC and NX, and Toyota recalled models including Camry, Hanlanda, Asian Dragon and Carola. Meanwhile, Toyota told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that it was aware of 66 on-site reports and 2571 warranty claims related to fuel pump failures in the recalled vehicles.

Toyota's planned global recall of 3.2 million vehicles is based on another upgrade of the January recall, and Toyota is reportedly investigating whether domestic models have the same hidden dangers.

According to media reports, the fuel pump in question is produced by Denso Co., Ltd., and there is also a domestic production line, so both Lexus and Toyota are equipped with fuel pumps produced by Denso, but Toyota has not yet stalled during driving due to fuel pump problems in China.

Sales figures show that Toyota sold 10.7421 million vehicles last year, an increase of 1.4% over the previous year and four consecutive years of sales growth. Toyota's sales have increased year after year, but it is not inferior to other car brands in recalling cars. Judging from the models recalled, both Lexus and Toyota are Toyota's best-selling models. Of these, Camry 2019 global sales rose 3.1 per cent year-on-year to 691000 units, Corolla sales rose 4.1 per cent to 1.236 million vehicles, while ES, NX and RX sales accounted for more than 90 per cent of Lexus brand sales.

In addition to the recall due to fuel pumps, Toyota recalled 3.4 million vehicles worldwide in January, including 2.9 million in the United States, because the airbags could not start properly because of defective electronic systems. In February, Toyota recalled 52000 vehicles in North America because of coolant leaks in some models that could cause abnormal engine noise, engine smoke, faulty lights and even engine overheating damage.

Toyota, as the representative of Japanese brands, has won the favor of many consumers because of its good quality control and cost performance. The Chinese market is an important market for Toyota, where sales in the past year rose 9.0 per cent year-on-year to 1.6207 million vehicles, while Toyota recalled more than 770000 vehicles in China in the past year, ranking second only to BMW and Mercedes-Benz. Toyota has always been a safe and durable brand representative in the eyes of the Chinese people. with the increasing range of vehicle recall, the status of Toyota in the eyes of the Chinese people has gradually changed.
