Red Flag H9 flagship sedan was officially launched on January 9, 2020. FAW Red Flag also changed its plans for the debut of the new car due to the postponement of the Beijing auto show. Officials say the H9 has started a reservation and will be listed this year.

Red Flag H9 is positioned as a medium and large sedan, and has been innovated in design for a new family language, including straight waterfall grille styling, Red Flag's unique front LOGO, light strips around the front of the car and two-color body painting, all highlighting the high end of Red Flag H9.

It is worth noting that the Red Flag H9 project has been under way since 2017, so the design of the car was not from Giles Taylor of Rolls-Royce, but by a design team led by Chinese designer Ding Yangfeng.

From the side, the color of the two-color painted car body is more special, and the shape of the C-pillar also makes the car body have smooth lines. The design of the tail is said to be inspired by the Tiananmen Tower.

Interior decoration also has a large number of wood grain and leather decoration, large-size full liquid crystal meter and central control screen has become the current standard for high-end cars.

The Hongqi H9 uses a longitudinal engine rear drive layout with an optional air suspension system. On the power side, 2.0T turbocharged engine and 3.0L mechanically supercharged V6 engine are available. In terms of parameters, the maximum power and peak torque of 2.0T engine is 252hp (185kW) and 380Nm, and that of 3.0L turbocharged V6 engine is 272hp (200kW) and 400Nm. The gearbox is said to use a seven-speed double clutch.

In terms of sales volume, the Red Flag brand sold more than 100000 vehicles in 2019, with a target of 200000 vehicles in 2020. Even with high-end models such as the Red Flag H9, it will be difficult for Red Flag to achieve its set goals this year.
