Great Wall released production and sales figures for February, which showed that Great Wall car sales in February were 10023, down 85.5 per cent from a year earlier, while cumulative sales in the first two months were 90284, down 50 per cent from a year earlier.

The sharp drop in the data is not surprising as production and sales are restricted as a result of the continuing impact of the epidemic in February. Compared with the data released by other car companies, Geely's sales fell 75% in February from a year earlier, BYD fell 77%, and Toyota and Honda also fell more than 70%.

According to the latest data report released by the Federation of passengers, passenger car sales in the domestic car market fell 20.4% year-on-year in January and 78.5% year-on-year in February, so car sales fell 41% year-on-year from January to February, the biggest decline in car sales in nearly 20 years.

In terms of specific brands, the production and sales of the Great Wall Harvard brand in February were 7190 and 7148 respectively, down 85.2 per cent and 85.5 per cent from a year earlier. The production and sales figures of the WEY brand in February were 400 and 451 respectively, down 93.7 per cent and 92.7 per cent from a year earlier, while those of the new energy brand Euler were 324 and 256 respectively, down 91 per cent and 92.2 per cent from a year earlier. The Great Wall gun pickup sold 1037 vehicles in February.

As the domestic market is affected by the epidemic, compared with the overseas market of Great Wall Motor, it is more important. Great Wall sold 3003 vehicles overseas in February, accounting for about 30 per cent of total sales.

At present, all car companies have suffered a large decline in sales in the first two months, and the task will be pushed to March and the following months, so the task and pressure on car companies and dealers will continue to increase from March. Great Wall's overall sales in 2019 were 1.06 million, exceeding the million mark for the fourth year in a row, and uncertainty in 2020 has further added to Great Wall's market concerns.
