AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)03/14 Report--

According to German media reports, as the COVID-19 epidemic continues to worsen in Germany and the United States announced the implementation of an European travel ban, Tesla urgently withdrew all American employees from his factory in Berlin, Germany.

Following the completion of Tesla's Shanghai super factory, Tesla CEO Musk confirmed last November that he would build a super factory in Glenn Hyde, Brandenburg. At the end of last year, Tesla signed an agreement with Germany to build a super factory in Berlin, Germany, covering an area of about 740 acres (2.99sq km), which is a dense forest.

When Tesla built a factory in Glenhead, he had to cut down a large number of trees. Musk promised to plant more than three times as much forest as compensation, but the local ecosystem was still seriously affected. This was protested by local residents and environmental protection groups. Oppose Tesla to build a factory here again.

Although Tesla's factory in Berlin was approved by the Brandenburg Ministry of Environment, it was blocked by local environmental groups. The environmental protection group applied to the Frankfurt-upon-Oder Administrative Court in Germany for Tesla to stop deforestation immediately, and the court rejected the environmental group's application on the 14th of last month. Subsequently, environmental groups submitted a new motion to the Brandenburg High Administrative Court in Berlin, saying that logging had many negative effects on the environment. The Berlin-Brandenburg High Administrative Court said that it agreed to the application of the environmental protection organization to stop logging temporarily, but rejected the application of the environmental protection group a few days later, and Tesla's work of clearing the forest was carried out smoothly.

Tesla was scheduled to start construction in April this year, and the plant is expected to be completed and put into production by the end of 20111 to produce Tesla Model Y, electric car batteries and engines. However, due to the continued spread of the epidemic in Europe, Tesla had to evacuate American employees urgently. The impact of Tesla's emergency withdrawal of American employees on the construction of the factory in Berlin is still unknown, and Tesla did not respond to the news.

Tesla's global sales could fall by 10 per cent this year because of the impact of the epidemic on car demand, according to an analysis by Morgan Stanley, a Wall Street investment bank, in a report.

The United States, China, the Netherlands and Norway are Tesla's four major auto markets, all of which are currently key areas of the epidemic, which could hit Tesla's sales in 2020. Tesla's sales in the Netherlands and Norway fell sharply in the first two months of this year, mainly because the stimulus policy for electric cars expired at the end of last year. In the Chinese market, the recent incident of chip reduction has been complained by consumers, which may have a certain impact on Tesla's sales. In addition, the market situation in the United States is not very optimistic. So far, the number of confirmed cases in the United States has reached 1635, and the US government has urgently issued a travel ban on Europe. However, even under a variety of unfavorable factors, Tesla still maintains his forecast for 2020 and has not yet been lowered.
