AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)02/14 Report--

A few days ago, J.D. Power released the 2019 U.S. Automotive Reliability Study Report, which is in its 30th year and has high reference value for both industry and consumers. The report is based on a three-year experience survey of 33000 U.S. consumers who bought vehicles in 2016, excluding used car owners. The reliability of brands on the list is determined by the number of problems per 100 vehicles (PP100), which means that the fewer problems the vehicle is more reliable, and the more problems the vehicle is less reliable.

In the end, the Lexus brand won again in the 2019 reliability list, with 106 problems per 100 vehicles, while Porsche and Toyota ranked second and third respectively with an average of 108 problems per 100 vehicles.

J.D., who is known as "referee" and "coach" in automobile circle. Power Data Analysis Report, a brand owned by McGraw Hill Financial Group, collects data from millions of consumer surveys and feedback every year to produce annual satisfaction, reliability, service index and other analysis reports for products and services industries. J.D. Power's research is known for its independence and objectivity, and automotive business survey reports have a high degree of recognition in the industry. But to date, J.D. Power's data reporting authority has also been greatly reduced, and it is only used as a reference.

Lexus has won the honor for most reliability for eight consecutive years, with 106 problems per 100 vehicles in the 2019 survey report. Porsche is still ranked behind Lexus, only two more than Lexus in terms of vehicle problems.

Toyota is returning to the most reliable position among mainstream brands, a position occupied by Buick last year. The rest of the brand rankings have changed little, with Chevrolet, Buick, MINI, BMW, Audi, Hyundai and Kia ranked 4-10 respectively.

Notably, VW and Mercedes have finally risen above the industry average, while for the first time in the study's 30-year history, all German brands score above the industry average.

Two brands have made great progress: Subaru and Chrysler. Subaru is back above the industry average, with 136 problems per 100 vehicles in the survey, while chrysler, which ranked last year and has a poor reputation, is close to the average this year, with the same failure rate as ford and honda.

Japanese brands have always been known for their quality reputation, but in the US market, Honda, Mitsubishi, Mazda and Acura brands have failure rates below the industry average.

Finally, the list of the five most unreliable car brands of 2019 was published, which was won by Ram, Dodge, Volvo, Land Rover and Fiat. Fiat has 249 problems per 100 cars.

Since this is an American automobile reliability study report, what does it have to do with us Chinese consumers? Of course, many car brands that are not reliable in the United States are very popular in China, which reflects to a certain extent that the first influencing factor for Chinese consumers to buy cars is not quality. Chinese people buy cars more sensitively, and may pay more attention to appearance, interior or brand factors. Foreign car companies want to open up the Chinese market, as long as the marketing propaganda is done well, there is a great chance to let the general public accept, and the quality of the car is secondary.
