FAW-Volkswagen officially announced that the first vehicle off the line of the AU381/0 CN_KL project was held in the final assembly workshop of Qingdao Branch, which is the new Audi A3 long-wheelbase version.

It is understood that the AU381/0 CN_KL project is the second Audi brand model produced by Qingdao Branch, and it is also the company's fourth model that has been put into production, including Bora, Bora Pure Electric and the new Audi A3.

The overall appearance of FAW-Volkswagen Audi's new A3 long wheelbase version is expected to continue the overseas version, with a more sporty front face, sharp headlights and a large grid on both sides.

On the tail side, it has a slightly upwarped "duck tail" design. Due to the lengthening of the body and wheelbase, the side of the new Audi A3 long wheelbase version will look longer.

Interior decoration is a new style, more technological sense, and will be equipped with a 10.1-inch touch screen.

According to the power layout of the Audi model, the domestic Audi A3 long wheelbase model will provide 1.4T/2.0T engine, or will join the overseas version of the new Audi A3 with the same 48V weak mixing system. The power includes 1.5T gasoline engine, 1.5T gasoline engine + 48V, 1.0T three-cylinder engine, which is matched by 6-speed manual transmission or 7-speed double clutch gearbox, while light hybrid models only match double clutch gearbox.

It means that the new domestic Audi A3 models will have standard axle version and long wheelbase version respectively in the future, which will further enrich the layout of energy-producing products. Audi sold 688888 vehicles in China in 2019, up 4.2 per cent from a year earlier, according to data. It sold 630800 cars in China, up 5.0 per cent from the same period last year, accounting for 91.5 per cent.
