AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)03/28 Report--

According to foreign media, Ford has decided to close three factories in Russia, including two assembly plants and an engine plant, and Ford will officially withdraw from the Russian automobile market. This will be part of Ford's European restructuring plan, which will lead to a large number of local job losses, according to a statement.

It is understood that Ford sold 53234 cars in Russia last year, up 5.7 per cent from a year earlier, but lagged far behind the 12.8 per cent growth of the overall Russian car market, while its share fell to 3 per cent from 3.8 per cent in 2013. This is related to the tremendous pressure on the Russian passenger car market in recent years, the slower-than-expected recovery and the shift to lower-priced market segments.

In addition, Ford also announced this month that it will cut more than 5000 jobs in Germany, and Britain also has plans to cut staff, but the exact number is unknown and has not been officially disclosed.
