According to the official news from Genisse, the new G80 will be launched online on March 30. It is understood that the new car will be the first to be launched overseas in the spring of 2020, including BMW 5-Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class. With the gradual approach of the Genisis brand into China, the new G80 is expected to be introduced into domestic sales in the future.

The G80 is a medium and large sedan under the Genisis brand. From the previously released official picture of the G80, the G80 after the replacement is obviously different from the old model in appearance. The G80 uses a brand-new family design language, the overall shape is luxurious and atmospheric, the forward air grille in the shape of the "shield" and the mesh texture make people bright, the headlamp groups on both sides are also designed separately, and the shape of the front insurance is also more exaggerated.

G80 interior decoration is consistent with GV80 overall, using black and brown matching design, and the use of a large number of solid wood panels for embellishment, to create a sense of luxury. The ash-decorated center console is equipped with a 14.5-inch suspended LCD screen and uses a rotating button to shift gears. In terms of configuration, the new car provides active noise reduction system, automatic air purification system, 10 airbags, driver fatigue monitoring system, collision warning, adaptive cruising and highway driving assistance. In terms of safety, the G80 is equipped with 10 airbags and provides complete driving assistance as well as active safety systems.

In terms of power, the new G80 will completely cancel the 5.0L V8 naturally aspirated engine carried by the old model, and adopt the same power system as the GV80. It is predicted that it will provide 2.5T four-cylinder and 3.5T in-line six-cylinder power for consumers to choose from, of which 2.5T turbocharged four-cylinder engine, the maximum power of 224kW 3.5t twin-turbocharged V6 engine, the maximum power of 267kW, and the transmission system will match the 8-speed manual integrated gearbox. In addition, the new car adopts the layout form of front and rear drive, and provides optional four-wheel drive system.

"Genesis" is a luxury brand built by Hyundai in 2004 and is mainly sold in South Korea. In 2015, Genesis officially entered the Chinese market as a high-end brand under Hyundai Motor, and named it "Gaines". However, due to its low brand awareness, small number of 4S stores, low preservation rate and single model, the brand will withdraw sadly soon after entering the Chinese market. At the 2016 North American Auto Show, Genesis unveiled its medium and large sedan, the G80, which is mainly aimed at South Korea and North America, but not the Chinese market. In November 2019, Hyundai officially announced the name of its Genesis in the Chinese market-Genisseth.

The domestic luxury car market is relatively stable, with Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi as representatives of luxury cars, Cadillac, Lexus and Volvo as representatives of second-tier luxury cars, as well as Lincoln, Infiniti, Acura and other luxury brands with average sales. As a luxury brand under Hyundai Automobile, although it has a history of many years, it is not well-known in the market.
