According to the announcement, Zhao Yao, deputy secretary of the party committee of Shenlong Automobile Co., Ltd., vice chairman of the trade union, minister of public relations administration and head of the Party and Mass work Department, died of infection with COVID-19.

According to the information, Zhao Yao once served as deputy secretary of the party committee of Xiangyang factory of Shenlong company and factory director of gearbox branch. In October 2017, a large-scale personnel adjustment was carried out within DPCA, including Zhao Yao as head of the Public Relations Administration Department of DPCA.

On January 19, 2020, Zhao Yao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Minister of Public Relations Administration and Minister of Party and Mass work, also attended the meeting of "all Public Relations and Marketing staff Action" held by DPCA. The meeting introduces the achievements made by DPCA in 2019 and recognizes the outstanding groups and employees who have emerged in the marketing campaign.

Shenlong Automobile Co., Ltd. was established in May 1992. it is a passenger car production and operation enterprise jointly established by Dongfeng Automobile Group Co., Ltd. and PSA Group of France, with a registered capital of 7 billion yuan. Dongfeng Company and PSA Group each account for 50% of the shares. At present, DPCA is headquartered in Wuhan Economic and technological Development Zone, with Wuhan factory (including three complete passenger car manufacturing units), Chengdu factory in Chengdu and Xiangyang factory in Xiangyang. DPCA has two joint venture brands: Dongfeng Peugeot and Dongfeng Citroen.

Due to the delayed resumption of work by various enterprises in Wuhan due to the epidemic, DPCA did not produce it in February. At present, Shenlong Xiangyang, Chengdu factories have begun to resume production, Wuhan factory resumption situation is unknown.

The cumulative sales of DPCA in 2019 were only 113579, down 55 per cent from the same period last year. In response to the continued lacklustre performance in China, Carlos Tavares, chief executive of PSA, said this month that we need to renew our strategy in the Chinese market.
