AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)04/13 Report--
Even less than a month after the International Consumer Rights Day, the proportion of complaints in March was 2.9% lower than that of the same period last year. Coupled with the dual impact of the Spring Festival holiday and the COVID-19 epidemic, the number of complaints showed an overall downward trend in the first quarter of this year.
According to the statistics of Automotive quality Network, there were a total of 16902 valid complaints in the first quarter of this year, down 29.2% from the previous quarter and 24.5% from the same period last year. The cumulative number of complaints involved 861 cars under 163car brands, with a decrease of 11 brands and 99 cars compared with the previous quarter, which also became the lowest number of complaints in the past two years.
Judging from the first three months of the first quarter, the cumulative number of complaints in January was 5636, down 32.3% from the same period last year, mainly affected by the Spring Festival; the cumulative number of complaints in the second month was 3025, down 45.9% from the same period last year. In fact, February 2019 was during the Spring Festival, and the number of complaints also declined, but February this year was the reality most seriously controlled by the epidemic, so appearance and consumption were restricted, making the number of heads further expanded. The number of complaints rebounded in March, but the number of heads rebounded to 8241, down 2.9 per cent from a year earlier, as the epidemic continued to spread.
In terms of the types of complaints, although the number of complaints has declined this year, the proportion of quality issues has even increased compared with last year, accounting for more than 80%, while service problems account for 9.4%, and comprehensive problems account for 10%. This also reflects the gradual decrease of the tolerance of domestic automobile consumers for product quality problems.
In the first quarter of this year, some Japanese brand models quickly became the focus of consumers' complaints due to complaints such as "increased oil" and "oil emulsification". As a result, the number of complaints increased rapidly since March, reaching a total of 3383, and the total number of complaints increased against the trend. It is the only national brand whose complaint volume has increased quarter-on-quarter, and the number of complaints has surpassed that of American brands to take the second place. However, in this quarter, the largest number of complaints are still independent brands, totaling 7037, followed by virtue, France, South Korea and Europe. The cumulative number of complaints of joint venture brands accounted for 56.3%, the overall proportion increased by 2.3%, slightly higher than the independent 41.6%, imported brands only 2%.
From the perspective of the major complaint models, the top three are SUV models, compact models and medium-sized cars, which also shows that SUV models are still the best-selling models in China, followed by compact and medium-sized cars.
According to the specific single-model complaints in the first three quarters of this year, Toyota models still occupy most of the complaint list because of the "oil incident", with Camry, Asian Dragon and RAV4 ranked first, second and fifth respectively with 548,318,196 complaints.
The only independent brand, the Great Wall Harvard F7, ranked third with 286 complaints, followed by the Peugeot 408 Volkswagen Passat, a French model. With the exception of Honda Civic's rapidly rising complaints about recent tire bursts, the rest of the models are at the forefront of long-term complaints.
On the whole, although the independent brand is still the country with the largest number of complaints, it is also because of the large number of models involved in China, it is difficult to find common problems in the complaints, and there are many kinds of problems. In contrast, the frequent appearance of individual models in joint venture brands also reflects the possible commonness of the brand's models, so the reliability of Japanese cars has once again been questioned as the current problems with Toyota models are rising rapidly.
