With the decline of the era of subsidies, China's new energy market has been declining for nine months.

According to the economic operation of the automobile industry in March 2020 released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology today, the domestic production and sales of new energy vehicles completed 50, 000 and 53000 respectively in March, down 56.9% and 53.2% respectively from the same period last year. From January to March, the production and sales of new energy vehicles completed 105000 and 114000 respectively, down 60.2% and 56.4% respectively from the same period last year. Although sales rebounded in March from February, there is a sharp contrast with year-on-year growth, down from 56000 in 2018.

From the point of view of the production and sales data released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, it is slightly less than the data released earlier by the China Automobile Association, also because the data of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology mainly come from the filing of the new energy vehicle announcement of the China Motor vehicle Service Center, that is, according to the statistics of the factory certificate of motor vehicles. On the other hand, the data of the China Automobile Association and the passenger Association come from the statistics of local automobile industry associations and automobile enterprises, so the data of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology are also more accurate.

According to the specific model data of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in March, the production and sales of pure electric vehicles completed 38000 and 40, 000 respectively, down 58.5% and 55.6% respectively compared with the same period last year, while the production and sales of plug-in hybrid vehicles completed 11000 and 13000 respectively, down 50.2% and 44.1% respectively. Although the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has more data on mixed models than those of the China Automobile Association, the sales of pure electric models are less, with a difference of 7000, which means that the data in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology also do not include the number of domestic Tesla Model 3 models.

For Tesla's domestic Model 3 sales of 10200 vehicles in March, it is undoubtedly a big "surprise" in the new energy vehicle market. After all, in the face of the current market that has been declining for many months, Truss, which has been growing against the trend for several months in a row, also highlights that the domestic new energy market also has great potential under the policy retreat. If Tesla accounts for about 20% of the domestic pure electric vehicle market in March, it can obviously help improve the performance of the domestic new energy market.

However, Tesla's data has been "deleted" by the China Automobile Association, according to the China Automobile Association: "it is impossible to verify the authenticity of Tesla's data, because so far Tesla has not submitted the relevant data to the China Automobile Association." At the same time, the China Automobile Association also hopes that Tesla can submit the relevant data to the China Automobile Association as soon as possible.

In fact, it is not empty for domestic Tesla models to be popular in the domestic market. After all, Tesla also has a trend of counter-trend growth in many foreign markets, and from the current Tesla-related complaints, we can also see that Tesla's domestic Model 3 does have a certain market influence. In addition, according to the insurance data of new energy vehicles released by the CNAC data center in March, Tesla Model 3 is far ahead of its competitors with 11927 vehicles at risk.

In addition, foreign media reported that since the domestic long-range and high-performance version of Tesla Model 3 started booking on April 10, the order volume has been very hot, exceeding 20000 vehicles within 24 hours.

Judging from the pictures in custody, orders for the new Model 3 show that 10 orders have been placed in about one minute, all from different cities in China, all at 4:35 on Saturday, April 11th, although Tesla has not disclosed the current situation.

The continued decline in the domestic new energy market also highlights that in addition to Tesla, most of the domestic car companies are in a state of malaise, including the new energy leader BYD Automobile. BYD expects to make a profit of 50 million to 150 million yuan in the first quarter of 2020, compared with 749.73 million yuan in the same period last year, down 79.99 percent from 93.33 percent year on year, according to a forecast of first-quarter results for 2020 released last night.

Among them, 12256 new energy vehicles were sold in March, down 59.2% from the same period last year, and the cumulative sales from January to March 2020 were 22192, down 69.7% from the same period last year. The decline of new energy vehicles is greater than that of fuel vehicles.

No matter what the real situation of Tesla's cumulative sales this year, from Tesla's frequent protection of consumers' rights, we can see that Tesla does have an advantage in some aspects, so that he has won the favor of many consumers. Tesla, as a wholly foreign-owned car company, may be a little "arrogant" in China. But it also reflects that as long as the new energy vehicle companies with certain advantages in China will get certain sales, we hope that independent new energy vehicle companies will accelerate to improve their competitiveness.
