Recently, J.D.Power released a ranking of the influence of domestic automobile brands in 2020. Judging from the list, it is almost slaughtered by German and Japanese brands.

According to the specific rankings, the top two places on the list are occupied by the "North and South Public". Among them, "Peking University Public" FAW-Volkswagen topped the list of domestic automobile brand influence. As a joint venture brand that entered China earlier, FAW-Volkswagen naturally has accumulated brand strength and popularity in the domestic market. Over the past year, FAW-Volkswagen has won a lot of sales by relying on Bora, Tanyue, Tengge and other models, with sales rising 3.8 per cent to 2129976 vehicles in 2019 compared with the same period last year, surpassing SAIC-Volkswagen for the first time in nearly five years.

"South Volkswagen" SAIC Volkswagen ranks second, although it ranks second, but its influence in the Chinese market is also not small. SAIC-Volkswagen sales fell 3.07 per cent to 2001777 vehicles in 2019 from a year earlier. SAIC-Volkswagen relies on sedan Lang Yi, Santana, Passat and SUV Tuguan L, Tuang to obtain good sales in the market segment, among which Lang Yi ranks first in annual car sales for many times.

FAW Toyota and Guangzhou Automobile Toyota ranked third and fourth respectively. FAW Toyota ranked third in terms of domestic car influence with models such as the Corolla, Asian Dragon and RAV4 Rongfang, with cumulative sales of 738000 vehicles in 2019, up 2 per cent from a year earlier.

Another Toyota joint venture, Guangzhou Auto Toyota, ranked fourth, with sales of 682000 vehicles in 2019, up 17.59 per cent from a year earlier. GAC Toyota also sells a lot of models, such as Leiling, Camry, C-HR and so on. Among them, Camry has entered the Chinese market for 30 years, and its sales are strong so far, so it can be said that it is the "overlord" of medium-sized cars.

The fifth to tenth places are Beijing Hyundai, Guangzhou Automobile Honda, Dongfeng Honda, imported Volkswagen, SAIC General Buick, Dongfeng Nissan and other car companies.

Japanese brands Guangqi Honda and Dongfeng Honda ranked sixth and seventh respectively. Guangzhou Auto Honda sold 778800 vehicles in 2019, and the best-selling models in the car camp are Feido, Ling Pai and Accord, and the sales of colorful Intelligence and Crown Road in the SUV camp are also good. In addition, it is worth looking forward to whether Haoying, which was listed at the end of last year, can become the dark horse of Guangben.

Dongfeng Honda sold 823300 vehicles in 2019. In the car camp, INSPIRE and Hewlett-Packard updated and supplemented the car camp to enhance market competitiveness. In the SUV camp, XR-V and CR-V are Dongfeng Honda's main sales force, of which CR-V ranked second in compact SUV sales last year.

In addition, Japanese brand Dongfeng Nissan is also on the list, with sales of 1.1753 million vehicles in 2019, and its strength is not to be underestimated. Dongfeng Nissan also has many hot-selling models, such as Xuanyi, Teana, Xiaoke, Qijun and so on, which are among the top 10 in the market segment list.

Overall, German Volkswagen has three seats in the domestic brand influence list, Japanese Toyota, Honda and Nissan have a total of five seats, while Korean Hyundai and American GM Buick each have one seat. As can be seen from the list, German Volkswagen is deeply cultivated in the domestic market, with absolute sales, brand strength and popularity, while the share of Japanese brands in the domestic market is also increasing.
