AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)04/18 Report--

In 2020, Toyota announced a large-scale recall, involving its Toyota brand, Lexus brand, a total of 257000 vehicles, these vehicles have engine flameout hidden danger.

A number of Toyota companies jointly filed a recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration on April 17, deciding to recall some imported and domestic cars, involving more than a dozen models, according to an official announcement.

The reason for this recall is that the resin forming conditions of the low-pressure fuel pump impellers of these vehicles are not perfect, resulting in insufficient resin density of the impellers. The impeller may be inflated and deformed under the influence of fuel, and interfere with the shell of the low-pressure fuel pump, resulting in the poor operation of the low-pressure fuel pump. In extreme cases, the engine may flameout while the vehicle is running, and there is a safety hidden danger.

The Toyota brand and Lexus brand cars involved above total 257000 vehicles. The solution is to replace the improved low-pressure fuel pump for vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge, in order to eliminate safety risks.

In fact, fuel pumps produced by Denso have been recalled on a large scale earlier, including Subaru, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi and other Japanese brands. Not long ago, GAC-Mitsubishi has announced a recall of 175000 Yige, Outlander and Jinxuan cars, which are also caused by the hidden danger of engine flameout due to the low material density of the pump core impeller of the fuel pump assembly.

Engine flameout during driving is a great safety hidden danger. It is hoped that manufacturers will arrange a recall as soon as possible and car owners will replace problematic fuel pump parts as soon as possible to eliminate hidden dangers.
