During the period from December 9, 2008 to March 12, 2015, a total of 51806 Beetles, cool and golf cars were imported from 2009 to 2015.

Reasons for recall:

Some vehicles within the scope of this recall use the upper shell of the electromechanical unit of the gearbox produced by a specific supplier within a certain period of time, and the thread of the fixed accumulator may crack in use and cause a drop in oil pressure. in some cases, the clutch is no longer coupled, resulting in the loss of driving power and safety risks.

Solution:

In response to this problem, the recall announcement of "Volkswagen (China) sales Co., Ltd., FAW-Volkswagen Co., Ltd. And SAIC Volkswagen Automobile Co., Ltd. recalled some imported cars and some domestic cars" was issued on May 5, 2019. After the implementation of the recall, through the analysis of the replacement parts, the producer found that the previous upper shell inspection method could not fully and accurately identify all the parts that might be defective.

In order to accurately identify all defective vehicles and eliminate safety risks, it is necessary to replace the upper shell of all vehicles that have not yet been replaced during the last recall (including those that have previously carried out recall inspection but not replaced the upper shell). Re-adopt a new method to check the upper shell of the gearbox electromechanical unit, and if it is confirmed to be the parts provided by the supplier involved, the improved upper shell maintenance kit will be replaced free of charge.
