Passat not only scored a five-star evaluation, but also scored 91.4% of its comprehensive evaluation. It also created the best score for a Class B car since the implementation of the 2018 version of C-NCAP. It was also the only vehicle that exceeded 90 points among all the joint venture Class B cars that participated in the crash test of version 2018. In terms of safety protection level, it can be called the first in the same class without dispute.

The 2020 Passat has won five-star praise at SAIC C-NCAP, which is actually useless and will only increase consumers' doubts about the safety performance of the car. SAIC Volkswagen wants to prove that the 2019 Passat is completely different from the 2020 Passat, but there is no big difference in configuration. Still want to prove that China Auto Research is losing its bottom line, and a number of models have been rated as five-star, not less than the Passat.

Whatever the reason, the success of the 2019 Passat in PICC has nothing to do with how well the 2020 Passat crashed in Sinochem, but will increase doubts about institutions and models.
