When it comes to the Mercedes-Benz CLS, I believe everyone is very familiar with it. It is an imported model under Mercedes-Benz. It not only has the halo of the luxury brand Trigeminal Star, but also inherits the design of the sedan model with rimless and slippery back, giving people a sense of luxury sports. But just last night, Mercedes-Benz launched the latest CLS entry-level model 2020 CLS 260. from the price point of view, Mercedes-Benz did achieve a certain price drop, equipped with a powertrain composed of 1.5T+48V light mixing system. It is worth noting that this is already the most expensive model in the 1.6L domestic market.

As the new model is only a new model, except for the power adjustment, the appearance has not changed much, and the design style of triangular headlights with starry intake grille is still used. Although the car is a standard entry-level model, it is still equipped with full LED headlights, 19-inch double five-spoke rims, front seat heating, interior atmosphere lights, CarPlay/CarLife interconnection and other configurations. And the AMG skin motion component will appear as an option.

In terms of interior decoration, the new car has also not been adjusted, with dual 12.3in dashboards and central LCD screens as standard. in addition, the new car will also provide Nappa leather multi-functional sports steering wheel, front seat heating, atmosphere lights and so on.

In terms of power, the new car will be equipped with a 1.5T four-cylinder engine and match the 48V micro-mixing system, with a maximum engine power of 184 horsepower and a peak torque of 280 Nm. In terms of transmission, it will be matched by a nine-speed automatic transmission. The official 0-100km/h acceleration of the new car is 8.7 seconds.

Although, judging from the current market layout of the Mercedes-Benz brand in China, more and more models have achieved small emissions. From the 1.3T engine of entry-level models to the 1.5T+48V light mixing system of medium-sized models, there is also a lot of online public opinion and complaints, and now the high-end models of CLS are also equipped with 1.5T engines, which undoubtedly increases consumers' awareness of Mercedes-Benz as a luxury brand, and is not conducive to the development of brand value.

However, as the Mercedes-Benz brand serves as the benchmark for global luxury brands, it still has a large brand premium in China. According to the data, a total of 139000 new cars were sold in China in the first quarter of 2020, down 20.3% from the same period last year, making it the highest-selling luxury brand in the domestic market and leading the Chinese luxury market.
