According to official sources, the Red Flag H9 has begun production at the factory. The new car is positioned as a medium-sized sedan and will be available in June with a 2.0T turbocharged engine and a 3.0L supercharged V6 engine.

The market positioning of Hongqi H9 is higher than that of H7, and it will become the flagship car of mass production under the brand, and it has been innovated in design. It is a brand-new family language, including straight waterfall grille shape, red flag unique front LOGO, lamp strip around the head and two-color body painting, etc., all highlighting the high-end of Hongqi H9.

It is worth noting that the Red Flag H9 project has been under way since 2017, so the car was designed not by Giles Taylor of Rolls-Royce, but by a team led by Chinese designer Ding Yangfeng.

From the side, the two-color painted body color is more special, and the shape of the C-pillar rear slide also makes the body have smooth lines. The design of the tail is said to be inspired by Tiananmen Tower.

Interior also has a lot of wood grain and leather decoration, large size full LCD instrument and central control screen has become the current high-end car standard.

The Red Flag H9 features a vertical engine rear drive layout with optional air suspension. In terms of power, it provides 2.0T turbocharged engine and 3.0L supercharged V6 engine. In terms of parameters, the maximum power of the 2.0T engine is 252 hp (185kW) and the peak torque is 380 N·m; the maximum power of the 3.0L supercharged V6 engine is 272 hp (200kW) and the peak torque is 400 N·m, while the gearbox adopts seven-speed dual clutch.

In terms of sales volume, the sales volume of Hongqi brand exceeds 100,000 vehicles in 2019 and the target is 200,000 vehicles in 2020. Entering 2020, Hongqi brand continues the momentum of rising sales volume, with cumulative sales volume of 39500 vehicles from January to April, with a year-on-year growth of 111%. In addition to launching the H9 model, Hongqi will plan a large pure electric SUV (E115), a new H7, H5 and other models during the year.
