According to relevant government documents, the Ningbo branch of SAIC-Volkswagen Co., Ltd. applied for Audi C-level SUV technical renovation project, with a planned annual production capacity of 75000 vehicles, and the production line is located in SAIC-Volkswagen Ningbo Hangzhou Bay New area factory.

At the same time, the technical transformation of SAIC Audi C-class (medium and large) fuel SUV project will start in February 2021 and the project will be completed in June 2022, so the newly launched SAIC Audi medium and large SUV is expected to be put on the market by the end of 2022.

It is worth mentioning that the current Audi's medium and large fuel SUV only Q7, Q8 two models, is expected to introduce Q7 is more likely. Of course, it does not rule out that it is a special version of Audi's new car in China.

The new Audi Q7 is available in 45 TFSI and 55 TFSI models with 2.0T in-line four-cylinder and 3.0T V6 turbocharged gasoline engines (with 48V light hybrid system). The transmission system is equipped with an 8-speed manual self-integrated transmission and a Quattro four-wheel drive system. In terms of price, domestic Q7 may be lowered to the level of 500000 yuan.

According to the data, SAIC-Volkswagen Ningbo plant has a total of two plant areas, the first phase of the Ningbo plant was completed and put into operation in October 2013, producing Volkswagen brands Tuang, Lingdu, Lingdu GTS, Skoda brand new sharp, bright station wagon, etc.; the second phase of the plant was completed and put into production in December 2017. production of Volkswagen Tuang and Skoda Klock. Since the signing of the SAIC Audi project, the launch of new cars has been hindered for various reasons. At present, Audi has invested in SAIC Volkswagen. According to equity information, SAIC Volkswagen Motor Co., Ltd. currently has five major shareholders, of which Shanghai Automobile Group Co., Ltd. accounts for 50%, followed by Germany's Volkswagen (38%). Volkswagen (China) Investment Co., Ltd. accounted for 10%, while Audi Co., Ltd. and Skoda Motor Co., Ltd. accounted for 1% respectively.

In the future, SAIC Volkswagen will have three major brands: Volkswagen, Skoda and Audi, forming a product layout from first-and second-tier joint venture brands and high-end brands. Audi brand will also become the second luxury brand introduced by SAIC.

Audi brands, including imported cars, sold 688900 vehicles in China in 2019, up 4.2 per cent from a year earlier. According to Audi's plan, seven localized models will be launched in China in the next five years, and sales in the Chinese market plan to double to 1.2 million.
