Geely Xingyue is a cross-border compact SUV owned by Geely Automobile, which was launched in May 2019. It is based on the CMA modular platform and offers three kinds of power: 1.5T+48V light hybrid (300T model), 2.0T (350T model) and 1.5T plug-in hybrid (400T model). The price range is 13.58-216800 yuan.
Less than a year after the launch of the new car, Geely announced adjustments to the configuration of the Xingyue model to reduce some of the configuration while keeping the official price unchanged. On May 14, Xingyue reduced its distribution again without any adjustment in price.
Geely Xingyue first carried out the reduction on March 5th, all of which removed the pre-tightening force limit function of the rear seat belt, in addition, only the 350T/400T star driver and 350T star driver AWD models retained the high-definition driving recorder function, the rest of the models previously equipped with this function were cancelled, and the price remained unchanged.
On May 14, Geely Xingyue was downsized for the second time, and the high-definition traffic recorder functions of the 350T/400T and 350T star-steering AWD models were also cancelled, while the price was not adjusted.
It is often difficult for consumers to understand the behavior of manufacturers to cancel the configuration but not to adjust the price. perhaps Geely made the decision based on the supplier situation, product strategy, corporate profits, market and other factors. Of course, from the point of view of the majority of consumers, since the allocation has been reduced, pricing should be reflected, otherwise it is equivalent to the loss of consumers' interests.
According to the data, Geely sold 105500 vehicles in April, up 2% from a year earlier. Cumulative sales from January to April this year were 311500, down 34% from a year earlier, reaching 22% of its annual sales target of 1.41 million. According to the 2019 performance report, Geely achieved revenue of 97.401 billion yuan, down 9% from the same period last year, while its net profit was 8.19 billion yuan, down 35% from the same period last year.
