AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)05/17 Report--
The automobile market in 2020 will be extremely difficult, under the double oppression of the epidemic and the depressed car market, the follow-up trend of the car market is not optimistic. Chen Yudong, president of Bosch China, said, "about 10% of this year's car market is a very good victory." Bosch Group is the world's largest auto parts supplier, and China has become Bosch's largest overseas market outside Germany for five consecutive years.
According to data from the China Automobile Association, in April this year, China's automobile production and sales completed 2.102 million and 2.07 million respectively, an increase of 46.6% and 43.5% respectively over the previous month, and an increase of 2.3% and 4.4% respectively over the same period last year. The monthly growth rate was the first increase since the beginning of this year. Among them, sales ended 21 consecutive months of decline.
From January to April, China's automobile production and sales completed 5.596 million and 5.761 million respectively, with production and sales falling by 33.4% and 31.1% respectively compared with the same period last year.
Many people in the industry believe that the rebound in the car market in April was mainly due to "retaliatory consumption" after the epidemic, which led to a delay in car purchase demand, while at the same time promoting consumers' rigid demand for private cars, coupled with the pull of local policies to promote consumption, thus contributing to the growth of sales in April.
In May, the car market has entered the post-epidemic era, and monthly sales are in a state of normal seasonal fluctuations, so there is still a lot of uncertainty in the follow-up trend of the car market.
If calculated on the basis of industry forecasts that the car market would fall by 10 per cent in 2020, that would mean a reduction of 2.577 million vehicle sales to 23.1921 million.
In terms of market share, Chinese brands face greater pressure. In April this year, the market share of Chinese brand passenger cars was 34.6%, down 2.6 percentage points from the same period last year, the lowest in six years. From January to April, the market share was 38.1%, down 2.5 percentage points from the same period last year, falling below the 40% red line again.
"one of the reasons is that users who intended to spend but were not affected by the epidemic in February and March chose more joint venture or imported brand cars when their purchasing power was released," said the official of the China Automobile Association. "
The founder of a car company believes that the epidemic has an obvious short-term impact on China's economy, and the "retaliatory" consumption of cars is not realistic. "after the epidemic, people's sense of saving has increased and their consumption has become more rational and pragmatic," he said. Automobile as a bulk consumer goods, low frequency, high unit price, long decision-making chain, it is difficult to usher in the real sense of "retaliatory consumption" in the short term. Only when the economic chain is running and employment expectations are stabilized can we release more consumption potential and drive private car consumption. "
On the whole, the car market will be a difficult year this year, with many car companies' sales and profits plummeting, forcing them to lower their targets and continue to move forward in accordance with the newly revised targets. There is even a view that the most important thing this year is to survive.
