AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)05/17 Report--
CEO Musk denounced the local government's ban on the resumption of work at the Fremont plant in Tesla, Calif., and threatened to move the factory out of the area. Now, Tesla's return to work operation has been officially approved, and Musk can't wait to put into production.
Tesla sent an email to internal employees that temporary health officials in Alameda County had approved the work plan and safety measures at the Fremont plant, Bloomberg reported. Earlier, Tesla had a dispute with Alameda County, California, where the factory was located. The shutdown order issued by the county rejected Tesla's application to restart the plant, and Tesla took Alameda County to court.
Tesla's entire car and most of its parts are produced at the Fremont plant in California, including Model 3, Model S and Model X models. Tesla delivered a total of 367000 electric cars worldwide in 2019, all of which came from the factory. The company plans to deliver more than 500000 electric cars in 2020, and the Fremont plant will bear most of the capacity.
Tesla is said to have made a detailed plan to return to work, and safety measures include the formation of a response team, which includes a doctor; the formulation of health and safety guidelines and, in some cases, the establishment of partitions and barriers to minimize the intersection of employees; adjust shifts to reduce the number of people in the factory, improve cleaning and disinfection in the work area, and take temperature tests at the factory entrance, and so on. Tesla's return to work plan stipulates that employees with related symptoms will be sent home for quarantine.
Affected by the epidemic, global production and consumption activities have almost stopped, and consumer demand has also dropped greatly, including today's consumption of cars, except in areas such as China. At present, remarkable achievements have been made in the prevention and control of the epidemic in China, most of the production and consumption activities have been restarted, and Tesla's Shanghai factory has also entered a stage of continuous increase in production capacity.
Of course, Tesla and Musk's decision to return to work is controversial online. Some netizens believe that the forced return to work under the spread of the epidemic increases the risk of infection among employees, and there is no need for so much car consumption at the moment. According to real-time data from Johns Hopkins University, as of 08:30 Beijing time on the 16th, there were a total of 1442657 confirmed cases and 87530 deaths in the United States, media reported.
