This means that the production qualification of Xiaopeng Automobile Zhaoqing factory has been officially settled, and it has become one of the few enterprises with production qualifications and self-built factories to produce cars in the new forces of car manufacturing.

Xiaopeng auto factory can be traced back to 2017 at the earliest. It is understood that Xiaopeng Zhaoqing factory has five workshops: stamping, welding, painting, final assembly and Pack, with four different final assembly flexible production lines and a flexible battery assembly line, with a total of 264 intelligent industrial robots. On March 19, Xiaopeng officially announced the acquisition of Guangdong Fudi Automobile Co., Ltd., whose shareholder was changed to Zhaoqing Xiaopeng New Energy Investment Co., Ltd., in the latest declaration information of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the production enterprise of Xiaopeng P7 has been changed to Guangdong Fudi Automobile Co., Ltd., and the rear label of P7 is also printed with the label "Guangdong Fudi".

As far as Xiaopeng is concerned, the production of seahorse automobiles can alleviate the problems encountered in production and funding, and focus resources on research and development and technology. For Haima, as production and sales have not been ideal, the factory's production capacity has been in a state of surplus. Accepting the OEM of Xiaopeng can effectively use the extra capacity and bring additional benefits at the same time.

However, through the contract manufacturing of seahorse cars, Xiaopeng not only has to pay a certain contract fee, but also has to bear the losses caused by poor sales. At the same time, under the mode of contract manufacturing, the efficiency, cost and quality of product production can not be directly controlled by Xiaopeng Automobile. According to the data, Xiaopeng delivered 16600 vehicles in 2019, while Haima has an annual production capacity of 50, 000, with a capacity utilization rate of only 33.2%.

Xiaopeng car self-built factory also has advantages and disadvantages. Although it has got rid of the shackles of seahorse cars, compared with contract manufacturing, Xiaopeng car cost will be greatly increased. In addition, Xiaopeng car has no production experience. The first batch of models put into production will inevitably have problems of large and small. As for the product quality of Xiaopeng auto self-built factory, it remains to be tested by the market.

With the approval of the production qualification of Zhaoqing factory, this will provide assistance for the mass production of Xiaopeng P7. The P7 is the second mass-produced model of Xiaopeng, with a total of 8 models with long rear-drive range, long rear-drive range and four-wheel drive high performance.
