The pre-sale price of the most closely watched new model of FAW Hongqi brand in 2020 has been announced. The pre-sale of Red Flag H9 for medium and large sedans will start at 350000 yuan, and will be marked on Audi A6L, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, BMW 5-Series and other models. In mid-May, Hongqi H9 has been put into production in the factory, and the new car will provide 2.0T+48V light mixing system and 3.0L V6 mechanical supercharger, which is scheduled to be officially launched in June.

The market positioning of the Red Flag H9 is higher than that of the Red Flag H7, and it will become the mass production flagship car under the brand, and the design has been innovated, using a new family language, including the straight waterfall grille, the unique front LOGO of the Red Flag, the light strips around the front and the two-color body painting, all of which highlight the high-end positioning of the Red Flag H9.

It is worth noting that the Red Flag H9 project has been under way since 2017, so the design of the car was not from Giles Taylor of Rolls-Royce, but by a design team led by Chinese designer Ding Yangfeng.

From the side, the color of the two-color painted car body is more special, and the shape of the C-pillar also makes the car body have smooth lines. The design of the tail is said to be inspired by the Tiananmen Tower. Interior decoration also has a large number of wood grain and leather decoration, large-size full liquid crystal meter and central control screen has become the current standard for high-end cars.

In terms of size, the length, width and height of Hongqi H9 are 5137 × 1904 × 1493mm and the wheelbase is 3060mm.

The Hongqi H9 uses a longitudinal engine rear-drive layout, and some configurations provide an air suspension system. The new car will offer a light mixing system consisting of 2.0T+48V motors and 3.0L mechanically supercharged engines, of which 2.0T engine has a maximum power of 252hp and peak torque of 380Nm, and 3.0LV6 mechanically supercharged engine with a maximum power of 272hp and peak torque of 400Nm. In terms of transmission, both powertrains match the 7-speed DCT double clutch gearbox.

According to the new car training materials exposed by the domestic media, Red Flag H9 will offer five models to choose from. they are 2.0T Zhi Lian Qi Yuet version, 2Jing 0T Zhi Lian Qi sharing version, 2.0T Zhi Lian Qi Chang version, 3.0T Zhi Lian Qi Chang version and 3.0T Zhi Lian Flag Leader four-seater version. And has charm night black, quicksand gold, glory blue, amber brown, gentian purple 5 monochrome car paint and Akagin + gentian purple and champagne gold + amber brown 2 two-color car paint to choose from. The interior is available in black, Danxia brown, elegant gray + ivory white and purple sand red + ivory white.

In terms of sales, the Red Flag brand sold more than 100000 vehicles in 2019 and set a target of 200000 vehicles in 2020. In 2020, the Red Flag brand continued the momentum of rising sales, with cumulative sales of 39500 vehicles from January to April, an increase of 111 per cent over the same period last year. Red Flag has seen a significant increase in sales after the launch of younger models such as the H5, HS5 and HS7.

According to the new car launch plan, the Red Flag brand will launch not only H9 models, but also large pure electric SUV (E115), new H7, H5 and other models this year.
