On June 6, BYD released its May sales KuaiBao. At a time when the car market is returning to proportional growth, BYD's market performance is disappointing, especially the new energy vehicle sector, which has declined in November and has fallen 60% this year.

According to an official report, BYD sold 31821 cars in May, down 6.19 per cent from a year earlier, narrowing the decline from a month earlier; cumulative sales from January to May were 124903, down 34.03 per cent from a year earlier.

From the perspective of specific sectors, BYD fuel vehicles have become the company's growing business, while the main new energy vehicles have held back.

BYD sold 11325 new energy vehicles in May, down 48.29% from a year earlier. BYD's cumulative sales from January to May were 46512, down 60.94% from a year earlier. Since July last year, BYD's sales of new energy vehicles have fallen for 11 consecutive months.

Of these, the total sales of pure electric vehicles this year were 36354, down 52.73% from the same period last year; the total sales of plug-in hybrids were 8031, down 78.86% from the same period last year.

In fact, the downturn of BYD's new energy business is almost synchronized with the trend of the overall new energy market. According to the China Automobile Association, sales of new energy vehicles in China fell by 43.4% from January to April this year, exceeding the 35.3% decline in the overall passenger car market. As a new energy giant, BYD continues to be hit, which also reflects the overall downturn of the new energy market.

On the contrary, BYD's fuel car business has grown. BYD sold 20496 fuel vehicles in May, up 70.5 per cent from a year earlier. BYD's cumulative sales from January to May were 78391, up 11.58 per cent from a year earlier. Among them, the growth of SUV models is obvious, and the fuel version of Song pro is the main sales force.

The whole new energy vehicle market is stagnant, even going backwards, which reflects that at present, new energy vehicles are still mainly driven by policy, the market driving force is not strong enough, and private consumers are not willing to buy. Once the market policy changes, the new energy vehicle market fluctuates greatly.

In addition, after the epidemic, many governments in China have strengthened their support for new energy vehicles and given huge subsidies to boost sales, of which Shenzhen gives individual consumers a subsidy of 10,000 to 20,000 yuan to buy new energy vehicles. From the actual market situation, there is no significant effect.

It can be seen that under the relevant supporting policies for many years, the new energy vehicle market has not formed a real market drive, and the current situation of relying on policies for survival has not been rid of.

In addition, according to the first-quarter performance report released by BYD, BYD's operating income reached 19.679 billion yuan, down 35.06% from the same period last year. The net profit of shareholders belonging to listed companies was 113 million yuan, down 84.98% from the same period last year, while the loss was 472 million yuan after deducting non-profit. Achieve profit and loss.

Among the various non-recurrent profit and loss items announced by BYD, the amount of government subsidy is the highest, reaching 533 million yuan. BYD said that government subsidies are mainly related to the automobile business.

The continued downturn in the performance of new energy has put BYD at a low ebb. At present, BYD's main products will launch 'blade battery', as well as the BYD Han medium-sized sedan with blade battery, which is expected to be priced at 23-280000 yuan, and the new car will be on the market this year. Blade batteries and BYD Han will be important measures for BYD to develop the new energy vehicle market in the second half of the year.
