In response to the feedback from car owners, Tesla acknowledged the existence of the problem and promised to provide free "round-the-clock protection kit" and self-installation instructions to car owners, but this measure can not prevent the occurrence of aging and damage of paint.

Tesla owner Francois Baileros is the initiator of the lawsuit. According to the lawsuit documents, in February last year, Baileros found that the Model 3 paint he bought less than a year ago was seriously aging. He contacted Tesla about this issue, but Tesla refused to refuse the issue during the warranty period. After fruitless negotiations with Tesla, Baileros decided to jointly sue Tesla and look for more car owners who suffered such damage to join the litigation team.

It is understood that the problem of paint decline is particularly serious in Quebec, Canada. The local car owner filed a class action against Tesla, demanding that Tesla compensate for the difference between the price and value of the car caused by the paint problem. This is basically equivalent to the cost of repairing the problem, and pay an additional $500 in compensation to each affected car owner.

Tesla, as a global electric vehicle giant, Tesla's sales have occupied most of the electric vehicle market since the Shanghai super factory was put into production. In the first quarter of this year, Tesla produced a total of 102600 cars and delivered about 88400, the best first-quarter performance ever.

In mid-May, Tesla's APP crashed in a large area, resulting in the failure of the mobile phone to connect with the car, the failure of the mobile phone keys, the inability to obtain vehicle information, the inability to light the dashboard and the central control screen in the car, and many car owners were in a state of "blind driving" due to the expiration of their certificates.

Tesla attracts many consumers by virtue of his unique intelligence and price, but consumers will choose carefully in the face of the quality problem of high hair. In the first four months of 2020, Tesla Model 3 sold about 20315 units in the Chinese market, of which due to price cuts and new policies on subsidies for new energy vehicles, Model 3 sales fell by as much as 64% to 3635 in April, which is not considered to have anything to do with Tesla's frequent safety incidents.
