China Insurance Research C-IASI announced the collision test process of Guangzhou Auto Honda Haoying on June 12. As a Chinese "special supply car" based on CR-V, many consumers were disappointed after the crash test process was exposed, so what is the final result of this joint venture model?

On June 19th, China Insurance Research C-IASI released all the evaluation results of GAC Honda Haoying. It is understood that the models participating in the evaluation are 2020 240TURBO CVT Elite Edition (179800) and 2020 240TURBO CVT Deluxe Edition (196800), that is, the minimum and sub-lowest configuration, and their safety equipment is equipped with front airbags for drivers, front airbags for front occupants, and front side airbags for front passengers.

According to the comprehensive evaluation results, except for the poor evaluation (P) of the "crashworthiness and maintenance economy index" of maintenance cost economy, excellent (G) scores have been obtained in the items of occupant safety index, pedestrian safety index and vehicle auxiliary safety index.

Haoying got excellent (G) evaluation in terms of occupant safety index, in which 25% offset collision and side collision got good (A) results, while roof strength and seat / headrest test results were excellent (G).

It is worth mentioning that although the occupant safety index in the car was rated as excellent (G), from the official collision test video, Haoying did not perform well in the front 25% offset collision test, in which the A-column showed a more obvious bend, the door almost fell off, the car body structure was obviously deformed, and the front of the car invaded the cockpit.

Guangzhou Auto Honda's new compact SUV Haoying officially launched at the end of November 2019, launching a total of 11 models with a price range of 16.98-252800 yuan. Although the car is a special Chinese version, it is also homologous to Dongfeng Honda CR-V, which has been localized by GAC Honda and is also the first compact SUV under GAC Honda.

Haoying is the latest model launched by Honda in the Chinese market, which has been on the market for only half a year. Due to the high heat of the market and rising sales, PICC Research conducted a crash test on this model, judging from the overall results. Haoying's "three G-P" results are fair, but from the details, especially the positive 25% offset collision, Haoying's results are very "ugly". Some netizens even joked that Hao Ying and Passat were "brothers".

At present, a total of five Honda domestic models are on the C-IASI crash results list, of which Accord and Civic all get A good rating, Ling Pai and INSPIRE get M general rating, and Haoying becomes the first Honda domestic model to get an excellent rating in the frontal 25% offset crash test.

However, even if Haoying has achieved more "pertinent" results, it is an indisputable fact that the A-pillar is seriously bent and the door almost falls. As a representative joint venture model launched by Honda in China, such a performance will inevitably disappoint consumers.
