AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)06/20 Report--

Volkswagen Group again announced a recall, a number of imported models have gearbox oil leakage. Volkswagen has had a number of recalls before, including steering failure, loss of driving power, vehicle fire and so on.

On June 19, Volkswagen (China) sales Co., Ltd. and FAW-Volkswagen Co., Ltd. filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration in accordance with the requirements of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products and the measures for the implementation of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products.

The recalled models include the 2020 Touareg and the 2019-2020 Audi Q8 and A8L, totaling 1220.

The specific models are: some of the Touareg cars produced from September 19 to October 9, 2019 imported 2019 Touareg cars, totaling 600; and some of the Audi Q8 and A8L cars produced from September 19, 2019 to December 9, 2019 imported the 2020 Audi Q8 and A8L cars, totaling 620 units.

The reason for the recall is that due to the deviation in the manufacturing process of the supplier, the welding strength of the oil guide pipe of the gearbox oil cooler is not up to standard, and the gearbox oil leakage may occur. If the gearbox oil leaks to the road during the driving of the vehicle, it may affect the normal driving of the rear car; if it is not dealt with in time, it may also lead to the damage of the gearbox or the loss of driving power of the vehicle, which may lead to safety risks.

The solution is for Volkswagen to check the production date of the gearbox oil cooler tubing for vehicles within the recall and replace the new tubing if it is confirmed as a problem batch.

According to the inquiry from the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration, Volkswagen has recently launched a number of vehicle recalls with different causes of defects, including steering failure, vehicle loss of driving power, vehicle fire and so on.

On March 27th, Volkswagen decided to recall 49 imported Touareg series cars from 2019 to 2020 and 115 imported Audi Q7 series cars from 2016 to 2019.

Due to the manufacturing deviation of this part of the vehicle, the connecting bolt between the steering shaft and the steering gear may not be fastened according to the correct torque, resulting in the bolt loosening in the course of use, which will affect the steering performance of the vehicle. Even do not rule out the case of steering failure, there are hidden dangers. Volkswagen will replace new self-locking bolts for vehicles within the recall area free of charge and re-fasten them according to standard torque to eliminate safety risks.

On April 24th, Volkswagen decided to recall 51806 imported Beetles, Shangku and Golf cars of 2010-2014; 21042 Audi A1 and A3 cars imported from 2010-2014; 1434 domestic Suiteng, Golf, Maiteng, Volkswagen CC and Bora series cars of 2012-2013; and 2150 domestic Tuan, Mingrui, Langyi, Haorui and Passat series cars of 2013-2013.

This part of the vehicle uses the upper shell of the gearbox electromechanical unit produced by a specific supplier within a certain period of time, and the thread of the fixed accumulator may crack in use and cause the oil pressure to drop, and in some cases, the clutch is no longer coupled, causing the vehicle to lose driving power. Volkswagen will replace the improved upper shell maintenance kit for the vehicle fee.

On April 3, Volkswagen recalled some imported 2015-2018 Audi TT cars produced from February 5, 2015 to June 29, 2018, totaling 1442. As a result of the vehicle collision accident, a heat insulation board support on the left side of the bottom of the vehicle may damage the fuel tank and cause fuel leakage, which may cause the vehicle to catch fire when there is a fire source, which may cause safety risks. FAW-Volkswagen will entrust Audi to authorize dealers to install thermal insulation bracket protection for vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge.

On April 30, Volkswagen recalled 1868 imported Audi A4Avant 2.0T and A52.0T vehicles manufactured from September 19, 2019 to October 30, 2019, and some domestic Audi A4L 2.0T, A6L 2.0T and Q5L 2.0T vehicles produced from August 17, 2017 to March 24, 2020, totaling 390006.

Due to the manufacturing reasons of the supplier, there may be small injection air holes in some of the inverters that start the generator. When moisture accumulates in the air holes, it may lead to electrolytic short circuit of the electronic components inside the inverter, which may lead to local heat accumulation in the starting generator. In extreme cases, the possibility of causing the vehicle to catch fire is not ruled out. Audi authorized dealers will replace starter generators for vehicles free of charge.

Volkswagen found defects in the model and launched a recall, in the view of consumers is a responsible attitude, but the vehicle problem is also objective. For users involved in vehicles, defective parts should be replaced in time to eliminate hidden dangers.
