News shows that the domestic DS 9 cars produced in the Shenzhen factory in the future will be listed globally, and the Shenzhen factory will also serve as the export base of the DS brand.

DS 9 is the brand's flagship sedan. The new car is based on the modular platform of PSA Group EMP2 and is on the same platform as Peugeot 508. The new car is scheduled to go on sale in the second half of 2020.

DS 9 continues the unique design of the PSA Group, with a woven mesh texture in the family hexagonal grille, headlights connected to the front grille and turn lights on both sides. The design of the tear eyes on both sides is similar to that of the Peugeot 508 fangs, except that there is a long strip of metal decoration in the center of the hood.

In fact, the overall body ratio of the DS 9 is very close to that of the Peugeot 508, and the two have a lot in common from the side view, especially the rear window. DS 9 length / width / height is 4933mm/1855mm/1468mm, wheelbase is 2895mm, is a standard medium-sized car.

The rear of the DS 9 is also highly recognizable, with a diamond-shaped taillight group style. the new car's taillights are connected by chrome strips in the middle, while the strips under the taillights extend to the sides of the tail, which officials say is a classic design to pay tribute to.

In terms of power, the new car will provide two options: 1.8T fuel and 1.6T plug-in, of which the maximum power of 1.8T engine is 228 horsepower and the maximum power of plug-in hybrid system is 254 horsepower. In the part of the transmission system, the new car will match the 8-speed automatic transmission.

For interior decoration, DS 9 uses a large LCD central control screen and a full LCD meter, and the top of the center console is also equipped with a "Clous de Paris"-inspired case carved clock, and the vehicle start button is also located here.

Due to poor sales and long-term losses, Changan PSA has been dissolved and the joint venture has been sold to Baoneng Automobile. In May 2020, according to the public information on the website of Shenzhen Market Supervision and Administration Bureau, Changan PSA has officially completed the industrial and commercial change, and its name is "Shenzhen Baoneng Automobile Co., Ltd." after the change, the company has changed from a Sino-French joint venture to a wholly owned subsidiary of Shenzhen Qianhai Ruizhi Investment Co., Ltd., and the legal representative of the company has also been changed from Zhu Huarong, President of Changan Automobile to Sun Li, Executive Director of Baoneng Automobile. According to Qixinbao, Qianhai Ruizhi is a wholly owned subsidiary of Baoneng Automobile Co., Ltd.

After Baoneng Automobile took over, Baoneng Automobile Global headquarters, Shenzhen production Base and Research Institute project were built on the former Changan PSA factory, R & D center and logistics center.

Baoneng insiders told the media that Changan PSA, which was taken over by Baoneng in Shenzhen, would set aside 20 per cent of production capacity for DS9, the flagship model of the DS brand, and could then produce other models based on Baoneng's brands.

Although the joint venture and development in China failed, Wang Chao, then director of corporate communications for PSA in China and Southeast Asia, said publicly on Weibo that the DS brand would not withdraw from China and would adopt a new development strategy in the strategic market.
