Recently, Matthias Zentgraf, president of Ningde Times Europe, announced at an automobile seminar held in Bochum, Germany, that the world's largest battery factory would be built in Erford, Germany.

It is understood that in June 2018, when the Ningde era held a press conference, it was announced that a battery factory would be built in Elffit. At that time, the capacity of the battery factory was planned to be 14 gigawatt hours. To this day, Ningde Times is planning to increase its capacity sevenfold. At this scale, the battery factory of Ningde Times in Erford, Germany, will leave Tesla's super factory with 20 gigawatt hours far behind in terms of capacity and site size, thus becoming the largest battery factory in the world.

According to Ningde's plan to build a battery factory in Germany, 240 million euros will be invested in the first phase. When the production capacity reaches 100 gigawatt hours, an average of 93 containers leave the factory every day. At present, the customer demand of the Ningde era is increasing. Zentgraf also said at the automobile seminar that the number of orders for German factories in the Ningde era is still increasing. In addition, the Ningde era also hopes to stay ahead of the competition in Europe. Especially after signing cooperation agreements with Durham, BMW, PSA Group and other automakers, Ningde era is also in urgent need of capacity expansion.

At present, the only competitors in the world that can compete with the Ningde era are Japanese battery maker Panasonic, South Korea's LG Chemistry and Samsung SDI. As a domestic battery manufacturer with its own brand, many industry insiders speculate that Ningde era is expected to become one of the top three battery manufacturers in the world.

In the Ningde era, there was a foundation for the development of the largest battery factory in the world. According to statistics, in the three quarters of 2018, the company's revenue in the first three quarters was 19.136 billion yuan, an increase of 59.9% over the same period last year, deducting 1.985 billion yuan in non-net profit, an increase of 88.71% over the same period last year. Even in 2016, when raw materials such as batteries and cobalt generally rose, the Ningde era was developing steadily.

At present, the latest product of Ningde era is the NMC532 battery, which can effectively increase the energy density while reducing the cost of raw materials. It is expected that the battery will be produced in large quantities in Germany.
