But a few days ago, Mazda officials suddenly released a video trailer of Mazda's three new models, showing an engine noise in a very abstract form, and Guan announced that the new car would be officially released on July 8, 2020.

According to foreign media speculation in the video, Mazda will release three new Mazda models on July 8, which will be equipped with a 2.5T turbocharged engine and a four-wheel drive system for the first time. At present, the engine is carried on overseas versions of CX-9, Mazda 6 and other models, with a maximum power of 250hp and a peak torque of 420Nm. It is believed that the parameters of the new Mazda 3 will not change much.

Such speculation is not groundless. In October 2019, Mazda launched a Mazda 3 TCR based on the Mazda 3, which carries a four-cylinder turbocharged engine with a maximum power of 350Ps, matched with a six-speed gearbox and a top speed of 241km/h per hour. Although the Mazda 3 TCR car does not have much to do with the Mazda 3 production car, the launch of the racing car version is a precedent for the performance production car, and with reference to the previous Mazda 3 MPS model, the new car is also likely to be equipped with four-wheel drive system.

It is not clear whether the new Mazda 3 will carry the engine, but given the positioning of the Mazda 3, it is unlikely to carry a 2.5T engine directly, and the new car is likely to be equipped with a 1.5T turbocharged engine.

Then again, before the official launch of the new car, all speculation is just speculation, but if the Mazda 3 can be equipped with four-cylinder turbocharging, the new model will greatly improve the power performance of the Mazda 3 and further enhance the competitiveness of the market.

Mazda, as an early brand to enter the domestic market, its performance in recent years has been unsatisfactory. In 2019, Mazda's cumulative sales in China were 227750 vehicles, down 16.34% from the same period last year. Mazda's sales in China have declined for two consecutive years. In 2020, due to the impact of the epidemic, the declining trend of Mazda sales will further increase, with cumulative sales of 76328 vehicles from January to May this year, of which FAW Mazda sold 31457 vehicles and Changan Mazda sold 44871 vehicles.

The reason for its decline is mainly due to the single product of Mazda in China, the lack of product capacity and the lag of product update iteration. In addition, a number of Mazda models in China have exposed abnormal problems, and even occupied the first place in the list of complaints for many months, which is bound to affect Mazda's sales performance.

Although the Mazda 3, which is expected to be equipped with four-cylinder turbines, will enhance its competitiveness in the market, it may be futile and further and further in the Chinese market if the brand of Mazda loses its reputation.
