AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)06/30 Report--
At the end of April this year, with the last 14th-generation Toyota Crown off the line at FAW Toyota plant, domestic Toyota Crown also officially stopped production, completing its production mission in China. Then, shortly after the car stopped production, FAW Toyota launched a recall, the third recall of the car in nearly a year, and some models had "low-level errors".
On June 29, Tianjin FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. announced a recall of some Crown cars produced from December 4, 2009 to December 20, 2010, involving 127 vehicles in question.
The specific reason is that the internal circuit structure of the vehicle audio power amplifier is not perfect, and the loudspeaker driving components in the power amplifier may be mixed with foreign bodies in the manufacturing process, which may lead to short circuit in the electronic circuit and the protection circuit may not operate normally. When overcurrent is encountered, the substrate is burned, resulting in combustible gas. In extreme cases, it may lead to fire and safety risks.
FAW Toyota's recall solution is to install fuse wires and metal housings for audio power amplifiers free of charge.
Prior to this, FAW Toyota had been forced to recall Crown models because of some "low-level mistakes".
In April 2020, FAW Toyota decided to recall a total of 41489 Crown cars produced from October 25, 2017 to November 30, 2018. The reason for this recall is that the resin forming conditions of the low-pressure fuel pump impellers of these vehicles are not perfect, resulting in insufficient resin density of the impellers. The impeller may be inflated and deformed under the influence of fuel, and interfere with the shell of the low-pressure fuel pump, resulting in the poor operation of the low-pressure fuel pump. In extreme cases, the engine may flameout while the vehicle is running, and there is a safety hidden danger. The solution is to replace the improved low-pressure fuel pump for vehicles within the recall range free of charge.
On July 11, 2019, FAW Toyota announced a recall of 130375 Crown cars made between January 22, 2015 and January 23, 2019. Due to the failure to comply with the main points in the manufacturing process of some vehicles within the scope of this recall, there is the possibility of improper installation of rear bumper reinforcements, which may lead to the absence of rear bumper reinforcements. If the rear collision of the vehicle occurs, in extreme cases, it may increase the risk of injury to the people in the vehicle, and there is a hidden danger of safety. FAW Toyota checks whether the rear bumper reinforcements are properly installed or missing for recalled vehicles, and reinstall the rear bumper reinforcements correctly for problematic vehicles.
The recall figures of the Crown model for nearly a year also far exceed the new car sales data for several years. In 2019, the cumulative sales data of the domestic Toyota Crown was 10378. Due to corporate strategy and product planning, FAW Toyota Crown has officially stopped production and withdrew from the Chinese market.
