This includes Honda, which suffered a slight decline in China last month but has helped the brand stabilise with its many best-selling models, with Guangzhou Automobile Honda performing particularly well in June.

According to Honda's latest sales figures for June, Honda sold a total of 142363 new cars in China, down 4.1% from a year earlier, of which Guangzhou Auto Honda sold 71587 vehicles in June, up 9.6% from a year earlier. Dongfeng Honda sold 70776 vehicles in June, down 14.8% from a year earlier. It can be seen that there are varying degrees of sales volume between the two joint ventures, and there is a great contrast.

After months of strong rebound in the domestic car market last month, there was not much difference in sales between the two Honda joint ventures. GAC Honda's May sales rose 0.1 per cent to 68696 vehicles, while Dongfeng Honda's sales fell 3.4 per cent to 65534 vehicles. But in June of this year, the two Honda joint ventures showed significant growth changes, with a difference of more than 20%.

This may not be "good news" for Honda. Last year, Dongfeng Honda won the highest growth of its joint venture brand by virtue of its outstanding sales performance, far exceeding that of Guangzhou Automotive Honda. However, since Dongfeng Honda became the hardest hit by the epidemic in 2020, production has been greatly affected, but at the end of April this year, Honda said that Dongfeng Honda production had basically been restored, meaning that capacity had caught up. Of course, this is also because Honda's sales performance was too strong last year, which led to a slowdown this year.

On the contrary, after Guangzhou Auto Honda added a new Honda Haoying model in June this year, its sales have increased significantly. According to Honda data, in June this year, six models, including Accord, colorful Intelligence, Haoying, Civic, CR-V and XR-V, all sold more than 10,000 cars a month, among which Civic sold more than 20,000 vehicles for two months in a row. This also means that Honda Haoying has become the main model of Guangzhou Auto Honda and Honda China.

It is worth noting that Guangzhou Automobile Honda Haoying on June 12 this year has been published by the C-IASI collision test results, although the test rating for the collision has not been announced, but from the Baoyan C-IASI published collision pictures, GAC Honda Haoying in this test is not excellent, so that the results instantly triggered the spread of the industry and attention.

In the test results of the China Insurance Research C-IASI, under the core front 25% bias collision test, Haoying performed poorly, the A-pillar was obviously bent, the door almost fell off, the car body structure was obviously deformed, and the front of the car invaded the cockpit.

As the final evaluation result was not released at that time, and the degree of dummy injury is unknown, the occupant safety damage data is still not clear, but from the perspective of its collision, GAC Honda Haoying basically has nothing to do with the excellent rating.

Even for this reason, GAC Honda's comment area on its official Weibo was closed on the day the results were announced, so that all doubts about the safety of the Haoying collision disappeared, and this result once again aroused the suspicion of many netizens. From the screenshots of previous comments, some potential consumers expressed dissatisfaction with this, and even users who claimed to be owners of Haoying cars said they felt uncomfortable. One of the netizens said, "seeing the collision of Zhongbao Research Haoying like this, I decided not to take a 2000 deposit and change cars."

Under various suspicions encountered by Guangzhou Automobile Honda, China Baoyan C-IASI announced the collision test process of Guangzhou Automobile Honda Haoying on June 12. In the test results, GAC Honda Haoying almost passed with excellent results, in addition to crashworthiness and maintenance economy index to get P (poor), the most questionable frontal 25% offset collision and side collision all got A (good) performance, can not help but let netizens question, after all, in the collision results, Honda Haoying A column bending and serious side deformation exist. And this result also makes many netizens choose to believe in the achievements of GAC Haoying.

Although because of Honda Haoying's test results, let China Insurance Research C-IASI in the previous "announcement and cancellation of Haoying results" made many netizens confused, so that they fell into a "stalemate". However, judging from the current sales performance of Guangzhou Auto Honda Haoying, it still maintains a strong sales performance, which is not affected by the test results in the C-IASI of China Insurance Research.

Data show that Guangzhou Auto Honda Haoying sold 11471 vehicles in May, ranking 20th in the domestic SUV market, while Honda revealed that it still sold more than 10,000 cars, meaning it continued to sell well in June.
