AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)07/04 Report--

Since the end of October last year, Tesla brought his first electric pickup truck, Cyberturck, and opened a pre-order in the North American market. Although the new car was officially released before the end of 2019, it will not be put into mass production and on the market until early 2022 at the earliest. With the heating up of Tesla in the Chinese market, he recently opened a reservation for an electric pickup truck Cyberturck in China.

According to Tesla's official website, the current reservation price for Tesla's first electric pickup truck, the Cyberturck, in China is 1000 yuan ($141), a deposit slightly higher than the $100 reservation fee in the United States.

At the same time, subscribers can lock in a fully autopilot package for 64000 yuan ($9000), while the package costs $8000 in the United States, which means it is also $1000 more expensive in China than in the United States.

It is understood that Tesla released an electric pickup truck Cybertruck in October last year, with prices ranging from $39900 to $69900. For the new car, Tesla offers three CyberTruck models, namely, single-motor rear-wheel drive, dual-motor all-wheel drive and three-motor all-wheel drive.

From the previous press conference and the release of the official picture, the car's design is very science fiction, the appearance is very similar to the armored vehicle, the length, width and height are 5880mm/2020mm/1900mm. Tesla claims that the new car will have a cyberpunk design style, and the appearance of the new car is very different from that of traditional pick-up trucks. According to Elon Musk, the design of the car was inspired by the Lutes S1 Esprit driven by James Bond in 1977, and the pickup truck has barely changed its design style in the past few decades, and Cybertruck hopes to break the situation.

Another major feature of the Cybertruck is that the shell has a strong resistance. Officials say the vehicle has high durability and passenger protection. At the press conference, Tesla showed hammering the shell steel plate and even steel bullets shooting at the glass, but the scene was slightly awkward and the glass was broken twice in a row.

It is worth noting that for this strangely shaped Tesla electric pickup truck Cybertruck, more than 250000 CyberTruck orders were received within weeks of the CyberTruck release. Although Tesla stopped updating booking records, other crowdsourcing estimated the total number of bookings for the electric truck at between 450000 and 500000 a few months after its release.

A source said that Tesla's pre-order for CyberTruck is already helping to boost sales. As a result, Tesla has now launched CyberTruck bookings in China, perhaps testing whether Chinese consumers have potential interest in the model.

Although compared with its North American market, pickups and large SUV are the largest selling models in the United States, and they are also generally favored by consumers, so they have a good market. But China's car market is also very large, with more than 400000 pickups sold each year. As more and more cities in China have relaxed the restrictions on the purchase of pickups, some car fans also have the impulse to buy pickups. However, for Tesla CyberTruck in the domestic consumer demand is still valid, as for the market effect can only wait and see.
