AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)07/04 Report--

Red Flag brand L series has an irreplaceable position in the field of political and commercial cars in China, and it is even more noble and rare than Rolls-Royce and Bentley in the eyes of the Chinese people. Recently, it has been reported that Red Flag L series replacement products have been exposed for the first time.

A group of road trial photos of a new generation of Red Flag L series models have been exposed on the Internet, and the new car may be a new generation of Red Flag L5 models. Under the heavy camouflage, it can be seen that the new product will adopt the red flag's latest family-style front face design.

Judging from the spy photos of the new car, the car adopts the latest family-style design of Red Flag, the shape of the headlight group is square, and the forward gas grille uses a straight waterfall medium net shape, which is similar to the H9 model that Red Flag is about to launch.

From the side, the new car uses a high waistline design and a traditional side pull door design, which is consistent with the current L5. The rear of the new car has a rich sense of hierarchy, and the thick and correct styling design highlights the sense of luxury.

In terms of power, with reference to current models, the Red Flag L5 carries a 6.0-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine and a 4.0T V8 engine, as the future Red Flag's flagship car does not rule out the continuation of the V8 powertrain.

Previously, FAW Red Flag planned to spend 572 million yuan to build a new flagship car codenamed N701, which is scheduled to go into production by the end of 2020 and assemble only five units a year. According to relevant documents, the N701 project will be renovated and expanded in the Hongqi plant, based on the L platform, with a total investment of 572 million yuan, and the expected production date is December 2020. And the production scale of the project is to assemble 50 N701 models in 10 years, with an average of 5 vehicles per year.

The Red Flag L platform has been developed and completed as early as 2006. The platform mainly produces small-batch, high-end red flag cars for government and business, which are made by hand. The 572 million yuan investment project is also a further transformation and upgrade of the platform.

The Hongqi L series replacement model will also be a product under the transformation platform, and it will also be a frequent appearance in the future in the field of political and commercial vehicles.

According to the red flag product plan, the red flag brand will form 21 new products covering L (supreme car), S (sedan car), H (mainstream car) and Q (commercial car) in the next five years.

According to official data, FAW Hongqi brand sold 15380 units in June, up 92% from January to June with a cumulative sales of 70000 units, up 111% from a year earlier. The growth of Red Flag brand sales has also become one of the few independent brands to maintain growth in 2020.

The transformation of brand and the increase of product line lead to the increase of terminal sales. At present, FAW Hongqi brand has L5, H7, H5 three car products, as well as HS7, HS5, E-HS3 three SUV models. In terms of new cars, the Red Flag brand plans to launch the H9 sedan, the new H7 and H5 models within 2020, as well as the debut of the mass production model Red Flag E-HS9.
