AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)07/05 Report--

A Tesla Model 3 owner posted a message on Zhihu Forum to safeguard his rights. The owner said, "the normally driving Tesla Model 3, with the AutoPilot fully self-driving function, was driving on the eastbound road of Nanping Express in Shenzhen, and the dirt car driving in front of the right suddenly came along the road, and his Model 3, under the control of the autopilot system, not only did not stop, but accelerated to rush up."

The owner said that the following statements are personal experience of the owner, without the slightest falsehood, if there is a situation that is not consistent with the facts, he is willing to bear the corresponding legal liability.

According to the owner's description, the white Tesla Model 3 was purchased in August 2019, along with the so-called "fully self-driving" FSD. The naked car costs 485900 yuan, plus purchase tax and insurance. The final landing price is 538600 yuan.

On June 24, 2020, when the owner was driving the Tesla in Nanping, Shenzhen, the rightmost lane was blocked. BYD slag car can only change lane dotted line, because FSD failed to recognize the slag car, not only did not slow down but accelerate, resulting in the accident.

The car owner said that usually he often uses FSD, and many cars change lanes. In this case, the vehicles next to the lane will automatically slow down when they change lanes near the boundary. FSD's previous handling method has given the car owners this understanding, so before the above incident, he thought that Tesla should slow down or miss, but he found something wrong when he slowly approached the dirt car and suddenly accelerated forward when he wanted to intervene forcibly. By the time I realized that I had hit the dirt truck.

Afterwards, the owner went to Tesla officially to explain why the autopilot failed to identify the large dirt car and accelerate the collision, but Tesla staff said that "the FSD hardware and data analysis is not abnormal."

After fruitless negotiation with Tesla service center, the car owner sent the corresponding incident process to a car forum, but it was deleted soon after. The reason for deleting the post was "false news", and the car owner guessed that it was deleted by Tesla.

As far as the car owner is concerned, there are two questions: one is whether there is excessive publicity in Tesla FSD. The other is what is the specific reason why Tesla, who opened FSD, crashed into the dirt truck?

In view of the above two problems, some netizens said: "(1) the dirt truck is not in front of the lane, but on the right side, in the line of sight blind area of the front camera and radar, so it is normal that it cannot be identified; (2) Model 3 follows the slag car in front and is in a state of automatic cruising and following the car, and Model 3 also accelerates when the dirt truck accelerates."

The car owner said that until July 2, Tesla had not given a clear answer, and if the authorities did not deal with self-driving safety accidents, they would take corresponding measures to legally safeguard their rights.
